(Trenton) – The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) today announced that it has begun posting current travel times to various Jersey Shore destinations through NJDOT’s 511NJ web page and phone system.
In the future, similar information will be posted online and offered over the phone for trips along other state highways.
\”Real-time trip information gives New Jersey residents and visitors the ability to avoid or at least limit exposure to roadway congestion by adjusting departure times,\” said Commissioner James Simpson. \”This is just a first step in our plan to use technology to give motorists the tools to better manage their travel plans throughout the state.\”
