After purchasing one of the favorite dining spots in the city, new owners Tom and Louie renovated the restaurant with new flooring, new kitchen ovens and sinks and still preserved the clean, inviting and wholesome friendly atmosphere of the original pub that has served its customers since 1923.
The two partners combined their skills and since buying the property in June, 2009 have kept the tradition that many long time customers have been enjoying over the years.
\”We are here to stay,\” said Tom who purchased one of his first restaurants in 1981. For a short time, he resided in Gloucester City. He remembers the furniture store on Broadway where at that time, he had to purchase his bedroom set on credit. \”I did not get the complete bed and slept on a box spring until the mattress was paid for,\” he said.
Now, the successful restaurateur employees a staff of ten people, several of whom reside in Gloucester.
