The woman and a male friend were in a kayak near the Big Pine Key. As they paddled along a barracuda leapt out of the water and buried its razor-sharp teeth into the woman\’s chest. Her companion told emergency dispatchers that he could not row the kayak to shore because the woman was in so much pain. A rescue vessel from a Coast Guard station in Marathon worked with a local boating company to reach the injured woman.

While deer may cross roads at any time, they are most active during the dawn and dusk hours, said DEP wildlife officials.

\”Once daylight-saving time ends, normal driver commuting times will more closely align with the peak deer activity,\” said Division of Fish and Wildlife Director David Chanda. \”Commuters should remain especially alert and drive with particular caution as a result. Deer are unpredictable. They typically move in family groups and cross single-file. Drivers need to take extra caution to avoid collisions, as well as the possibility of serious injury.\”

Chew is 43 years old, and is employed as a Camden City Police Officer. A graduate of Gloucester Catholic High School and a member of St. Michael\’s Roman Catholic Church, he has a Master Degree in Administration Science from Farleigh Dickson University.

He and his wife Lisa have four children, Ricky (20), Amy (17) Timmy (9) and Courtney (4).

Chew says if he is elected he would lower taxes in Gibbstown by pushing for more shared services. \”I have been walking door to door in Gibbstown since Labor Day. I have heard the residents loud and clear. I will continue to listen to them once I am elected on November 2, 2010.

\”I have a great deal of experience in government and of managing people. My budget experience in government and my financial experience with my home finances make me well qualified.

\”I am committed to the residents of Gibbstown and I bring fresh ideas to the Town Government. I am endorsed by Mayor George W. Shivery, Jr.

(former Gloucester City High School teacher) and want to support his many successful accomplishments including roads, water and low taxes. Gibbstown is a great place to raise a family. I want to keep it that way. I believe there is more to accomplish in this town without going over budget. I am a firm believer in shared services to keep the cost of government under control. I would encourage the residents to contact me directly with any new idea(s) they would have to make our community more efficient. We need more input from the residents and I would be happy to hear their fresh ideas. It would be my privilege to become a member of government in the town my family and I picked to raise our family.

\”I grew up in Gloucester City and lived there for over 30 years. My mother\’s maiden name is Hagan. I hope anyone that knows anyone from Gibbstown will tell them to vote for me\”.

Glading Blasts Andrews for \”Living Large\” Off Campaign Money

press release

Calls Andrews \”Out of Touch\” with South \"Dale Voters

Barrington, NJ – This morning, First District Congressional Candidate Dale Glading (R- Barrington) blasted Rep. Rob Andrews (D-Haddon Heights) for using campaign contributions to support his luxurious lifestyle. Specifically, Glading cited the fact that Andrews spent $83,000 for meals at Four and Five Diamond restaurants across the country; another $82,000 on parties and room stays at top of the line hotels; and $23,000 on limousine services in cities such as New York, San Francisco, Miami and Huntingdon Beach, California.

Among the independent expenditures culled from Andrews\’ Federal Election Commission report were $7,186 for fine dining at Philadelphia\’s posh Palm Restaurant; $4,077 for meals at the palatial Hotel duPont in Wilmington; and $3,756 in food and bar tabs at the prestigious Capitol Grille in Washington D.C. Andrews was likewise generous with his top campaign donors, lavishing them with more than $75,000 worth of gifts including $20,000 in Christmas baskets; $13,264 in chocolates; $13,282 in flowers; and $2,837 in toys.

Andrews even flew to the West Coast, bringing back $75.00 worth of cupcakes from an exclusive bakery in Beverly Hills. And when Andrews traveled, he often paid exorbitant first class fares such as $4,562.00 for two roundtrip tickets to Arizona.

\”At a time when unemployment in the First District stands at almost 10%, Congressman Andrews\’ luxurious lifestyle is a smack in the face to his constituents,\” Glading charged. \”Rob\’s free spending ways are the same, whether it\’s with campaign contributions or taxpayers\’ dollars.\”

\”The median family income in the First District is $47,000 and Rob Andrews spent half that amount on rides in fancy limousines,\” continued Glading. \”Career politicians like Rob Andrews have no concept of how the rest of us live.\”

\”No wonder our country is in the financial shape it\’s in,\” Glading concluded.

To Kill an American

submitted by John Branin
You probably missed this in the rush of news, but there was actually a report that someone in Pakistan had published in a newspaper, an offer of a reward to anyone who killed an American, any American.

So an Australian dentist wrote an editorial the following day to let everyone know what an American is . So they would know when they found one. (Good one, mate!!!!)

 Written by an Australian Dentist

\’An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish , Polish, \"Images-12\" Russian or Greek. An American may also be Canadian, Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani or Afghan.

An American may also be a Comanche, Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as native Americans.

An American is Christian , or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim. In fact, there are more Muslims in America than in Afghanistan . The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them chooses.

An American is also free to believe in no religion.. For that he will answer only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and for God.

An American lives in the most prosperous land in the history of the world.

The root of that prosperity can be found in the Declaration of Independence , which recognizes the God given right of each person to the pursuit of happiness.

An American is generous.. Americans have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need, never asking a thing in return.

When Afghanistan was over-run by the Soviet army 20 years ago, Americans came with arms and supplies to enable the people to win back their country!

As of the morning of September 11, Americans had given more than any other nation to the poor in Afghanistan .

The national symbol of America , The Statue of Liberty , welcomes your tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the homeless, tempest tossed. These in fact are the people who built America

Some of them were working in the Twin Towers the morning of September 11 , 2001 earning a better life for their families. It\’s been told that the World Trade Center victims were from at least 30 different countries, cultures, and first languages, including those that aided and abetted the terrorists.

So you can try to kill an American if you must. Hitler did. So did General Tojo , and Stalin , and Mao Tse-Tung, and other blood-thirsty tyrants in the world.. But, in doing so you would just be killing yourself . Because Americans are not a particular people from a particular place. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, is an American.
