Chosen to complete the unexpired term of the late Peter Dee Sr., Duncan will also run for the same seat on Council on November 2.
Councilwoman Regina Piontkowski, previously set to retire as her current term expires in January 2011, will also run again to keep the Council seat she has had for several years.
Following the swearing-in, winners of the annual Fire Prevention Poster Contest were announced, by Bellmawr Fire Department (Station 32) Chief Jim Burleigh, along with Ralph Jones. Savings bonds and certificates were presented to the following Bellmawr schools students:
Ethel M. Burke Elementary School — Jake Commander, Special Education; Jacob Knowles, Special Education: Kaylee Osario, kindergarten; Riki Patel, 1st grade; Kaila Corgliano, 2nd grade; Regine Palconit, 3rd grade; Amanda Morales, 4th grade.
