Gloucester City Planning Board Okays Upgrades

Members of the Gloucester City Planning Board approved several basic improvements to three properties in the City’s Historic District during last week’s brief meeting.

Historic Commission President David Munn presented the applications, which had already been given the green light by the Commission. Munn noted that all three properties had been vacant for quite some time.

Winners of THE 20TH ANNUAL GOVERNOR\’S SURF FISHING TOURNAMENT-cnbnews.net


More than 700 anglers celebrated the 20th Annual Governor\’s Surf Fishing Tournament on Sunday October 2 at Island Beach State Park. The beautiful fall day added to the enthusiasm as anglers reeled in sixty-seven eligible fish in the kingfish, blackfish, bluefish and striped bass categories.

Bellmawr Council Honors Softball Teams

Bellmawr Mayor and Borough Council honored two championship teams from the 2011 Gloucester City Girls’ Softball Tournament during its September 22 meeting.

This tournament marked the final time it will be held in Gloucester City, prompting Mayor Frank Filipek to offer if Bellmawr can help in any way to keep ensuing tournaments close by.

Members of Council joined the Mayor in congratulating the following players and their coaches.
