HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 3, 2011) – Head Men’s Basketball Coach Bobby Hurley (Hoboken, N.J.) announced his coaching staff for the 2011-12 season on Monday. Joining Hurley, top assistant Brendan Twomey (Hoboken, N.J.), and Michael Collins (Union City, N.J.), will be 2008 Stevens Institute of Technology graduate Waleed Farid (Woodside, N.Y.) and former Cornell University team captain Jon Jaques (Clifton, N.J.).

A Cape May firefighter died Monday while returning from a gymnasium, according to The Cape May County Herald.

Lt. Andy Boyt, 47, stopped his car on Route 9 and Jaden Road at approximately 3:45 p.m., and a passenger in the car administered CPR.

EMTs arrived at the scene and continued to try to revive him as he was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center but were unsuccessful.

The 17-year veteran had been a member of both volunteer and career departments during his career and also served as the city\’s Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator.

Manahey Jr. told the newspaper.

(Woodbury, NJ) – Gloucester County Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger and Freeholder Deputy Director Warren S. Wallace announced the schedule for the County’s 2011 Flu shot clinic program today. 

PHILADELPHIA –While the men\’s soccer team is in the midst of a 10-day break before conference play, one of La Salle\’s alums is making waves on the national soccer scene this week. Jeremy Ortiz \’08 has been spending the past week in Torrance, Calif., training with the US National Futsal Team in preparations for the Gran Prix in Brazil in October.

After graduating from Gloucester High School class of 1979, Steve graduated from the Seafarers School of Seamanship in Piney Point, MD and was a member of the International Seafarer’s Union. For 20 years, Steve worked for Crowley Maritime out of Jacksonville, FL. He also worked on the Mississippi River for ACBC out of Patuka, KY. Steve loved vacationing and visiting family in the Florida Keys and also his trips to New Hampshire. Visitation will be held on Thursday morning from 10 to 11 AM at St. Mary’s R.C. The Camden County Freeholders have scheduled 17 site locations for the 2011 Seasonal Influenza and Pneumonia Immunization Program. The program begins at the annual Senior Health Fair, which this year takes place on Wednesday, October 5 in Cooper River Park, starting at 10:00 a.m. and continuing through 2:00 p.m.

NEW YORK–The Atlantic 10 Conference announced that it has formed a five-year partnership with the Barclays Center to bring the A-10 men’s basketball tournament to Brooklyn and the new arena, beginning in 2013. The joint announcement was made Wednesday afternoon at the Barclays Center Showroom in Manhattan, N.Y.

The Delaware River Waterfront Corporation has received two prestigious awards from the 10,000 Friends of Pennsylvania during the 2011 Commonwealth Awards at the Hilton Harrisburg, in Harrisburg, PA. A crowd of developers, planners, legislators, local government officials and others involved and interested in responsible and efficient land use practices were in attendance as the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation received the Commonwealth-Gold award for Plans and Planning for the Master Plan for the Central Delaware and received the Commonwealth Award for Public Infrastructure for the Race Street Pier.
