(cnbnews.net)SCHOOL CHOICE PROGRAM GOOD OR BAD? A recent Star Ledger article about the New Jersey’s School Choice program listed the Gloucester City School District as one of the Top Ten sending districts in the state that are loosing students to other schools. Winslow Township lost the most students (237), followed by Paterson City (68), Hillside Township (62), Jersey City (59), Gloucester City (58), Lawrence Township (53), Dover Town (53), Trenton City (43), Roselle Boro (40), and finally, Camden City (40).
From the article (Students Choose Schools etc.), \”In most cases, students who participate are leaving large, mainly urban, districts that struggle academically in favor of smaller districts with intimate class sizes and more one-on-one attention from teachers.\”
