Brooklawn Boro Swears In New Councilman Patrick MacAdams

By Sara Martino

Gloucester City News

Brooklawn Mayor Theresa Branella gave the oath of office to Patrick MacAdams as his wife, Brittany, held the Bible, during last week’s Borough Council meeting.

\”I have met and talked with Patrick and he is ready to roll up his sleeves,\” Mayor Branella said.

\”We have lots of projects going on and we are looking forward to your contribution,\” said Council members, adding that a few of them have known Patrick since he was a youngster.

He is the nephew of Councilman Tom MacAdams.

Letters: A Dream Library in Gloucester City

When I read the recent article from the Camden County Library System, asking for feedback from people as to what they think would constitute the library of their dreams, what immediately came to mind was that Gloucester City already has that dream library right here (and this is not a response to the CCLS).

Any library is a benefit to those who use them, but Gloucester’s library is a true treasure to our city and the many residents of all ages who benefit from having a library that has a wonderful Director, Beth Egan, and an equally wonderful Staff that makes it so special.

It’s not just being able to borrow books, or DVD’s, or using computers…it’s all the activities they put together for residents of all ages, and help they’re always ready and willing to give when someone needs assistance.

Gloucester City residents are so lucky to have the independent library we have and I hope with all my heart that it never changes.

LETTERS: Thank You PSE&G Employees

PSE&G SUBSTATION Klemm Avenue

Dear Management,

On August 11, 2012 our baby Bella went missing from our back yard.

We immediately began searching for her day and night. I live in the area of your Gloucester City Station on Klemm Avenue. Along with many family and friends, four of your staff members kept an eye out for her.

She was just so quick and scared she would run every time one of us would try to catch her. Well finally after many long hours and a lot of heartache, one of your gentlemen, had a large fishing net donated by Harry Smith my brother, and finally captured our Bella on Wednesday, August 15 (almost 71 hours after she went missing).

Lonely Gloucester Post Office Monday Morning

By Albert Countryman Jr.

Gloucester City News

(GCN August 30 issue)For nearly 14 years, I have gone to the Gloucester City Post Office just about daily.

When collecting and sending mail, it was refreshing to overhear the letters carriers banter back and forth about the events of the day.

Established in 1935, the brick building on Broadway has served as a meeting place – people and business owners saying hello while entering and leaving.

This Monday morning, August 27, the Post Office was lonely.

Donohue: THE POLITICS OF GOD’S RETURN

September 6, 2012

Catholic League president Bill Donohue comments on the decision by the Democratic National Convention (DNC) to put the word \”God\” back into the Democratic National Platform:

The Democrats intentionally took the word \”God\” out of the Platform, took heat for doing so, failed to persuade delegates to put it back in, did so anyway by fiat, and then lied about the entire event.

CNBNews Letters: Broken Utility Pole a Hazard for Pedestrians, Located Near Children Bus Stop

That broken pole needs to come down right away and the ground leveled a bit to allow a safe exist/entrance onto the road.

Any publicity you can give to help get this out on the airwaves would be appreciated.
