QUANTICO, Va., Sept. 24, 2012 – Charges against two Marines were referred to trial by courts-martial Sept. 21 for their alleged involvement in urinating on deceased Taliban fighters and for posing for unofficial photographs with human casualties in Afghanistan.

Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Richard P. Mills, commanding general of Marine Corps Combat Development command, referred the charges.

September 18 TRENTON – The Department of Environmental Protection\’s Division of Fish and Wildlife is advising hunters and other outdoors enthusiasts to be alert for white-tailed deer that may be experiencing symptoms of Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease (EHD), a virus that spreads among deer though the bites of midge flies but cannot be transmitted to people.

Sister Theresa Gottuso, M.P.F. Succumbs, Taught in Area Schools

Sister Theresa Gottuso, M.P.F., a sister for 54 years in the community of the Religious Teachers Filippini, died on Saturday, September 22, 2012, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden, New Jersey.

Sister Theresa was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Gottuso of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania where she was born. She is survived by four brothers and two sisters from Ellwood City, Vincent Gottuso, twin sister Grace (Gus) Fornataro, Marie Elaine Gottuso Pelloni, Joseph (Antoinette) Gottuso of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, Robert (Joan) Gottuso of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, and Dennis (the late Donna) Gottuso of Forest, Virginia. She is also survived by thirteen nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.

During the last twenty years until June of 2012, Sister Theresa had been a Religion and Business teacher at Paul VI High School in Haddon Township, New Jersey. She ministered at the parish of St. Joseph the Worker in Haddon Township, New Jersey as a CCD teacher and Eucharistic Minister. Sister Theresa also taught at St. James, Trenton, New Jersey; St. Bernadette Elementary School, Brooklyn, New York; Bishop O’Hara High School in Dunmore, Pennsylvania; she also worked as the secretary to the Apostolic Delegate in Washington, D.C. from 1965 to 1971.

Sister Theresa received her M.A. from Rider College, a B.S. from the University of Maryland, and a Certificate of Proficiency in Religious Education. Sr. Theresa graduated from Lincoln High School, Class of ’56, and Holy Redeemer (Purification BVM Grade School) both of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania.

The hours for visitation will be at St. Vincent Pallotti Church, in Haddon Township, New Jersey on Monday, September 24, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and September 25, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. The Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 11 a.m.

On Saturday, September 29, 2012, visitation hours will be at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Mass of the Resurrection at 11 a.m. in St. Lucy Chapel, Villa Walsh, Morristown, New Jersey.

Interment will follow at Ave Maria Cemetery, Villa Walsh, Morristown, New Jersey.

In lieu of flowers, Sr. Theresa\’s family requests donations be made to Paul VI High School for the Sr. Theresa Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Advancement Director, 901 Hopkins Road, Ste. B., Haddonfield, NJ 08033 or to Religious Teachers Filippini Retirement Fund c/o Sr. Betty Jean Takacs, M.P.F., Villa Walsh, 455 Western Avenue, Morristown, NJ 07960.
