What\’s Happening in Ocean City

 

 

Ocean City was the first community in Cape May County to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The celebration was initiated a few years after his death by the late Rozelia Cobb, a beloved teacher at the Ocean City Intermediate School.

 

The tradition is carried forward today by former councilman, Rev. Gregory Johnson, who will present an inspirational reading of Dr. King\’s \”I Have a Dream Speech\” during a ceremony set for 1 p.m., Sat., Jan. 19, at the Bill and Nancy Hughes Performing Arts Center, Ocean City High School, 6th and Atlantic Ave.

County and Chamber of Commerce Team Up to Gage Shop Local Saturday’s Impact

 

 

(Woodbury, NJ) – Saturday, November 24, 2012 has come and gone and the Gloucester County Department of Economic Development and the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce are teaming up to gage the results to the Shop, Dine, Go Local Campaign launched by the Gloucester County Board of Freeholders last August.

 

Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger said that the county’s Shop, Dine, Go Local campaign was the home-grown effort developed to promote shopping locally during the largest shopping weekend of the year and more than 250 businesses participated in the event.

Record-Breaking Rollins Headlines First USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week Awards

NEW ORLEANS – Brianna Rollins of No. 1 Clemson, the new collegiate record holder in the 60 hurdles, highlights the inaugural six winners of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Athlete of the Week Award, announced Monday afternoon.

With her blistering 7.78 at Clemson’s Tiger Challenge, Rollins’ performance was the most exceptional among the outstanding performances turned in by all six award winners. She joins men’s winner Casimir Loxsom of Penn State as the Division I representatives.
