Ewing, NJ … A five-run seventh inning carried Oswego State to a 10-8 victory over The College of New Jersey on Sunday afternoon at George Ackerman Park.

The Lions (1-2) led most the game, but a big inning by the Lakers (2-1) carried them to their second win of the season as 15 hits on offense overcame five errors in the field.

Gloucester City: Plans Call For a Irish-Themed Village of Shops and Restaurants

ORLANDO, Fla. –( March 3)Freshman Mary Cate Scott led the softball team to a pair of wins in today\’s games against Sacred Heart and Holy Cross. The Explorers overtook Sacred Heart 2-1 before defeating Holy Cross in the final inning with a score of 4-3.

The game was tied 3-3 at the end of the fifth inning against Holy Cross. In the top of the seventh, the Explorers scored a clutch go-ahead run to make the score 4-3. They successfully held off the Crusaders to earn their third win in the last three games.

Scott threw a complete game against Sacred Heart and served as a reliever against Holy Cross, picking up two more wins in the process. She has now improved her record to 3-0 as an Explorer.

With today\’s success, the softball squad improves to 3-1 on the season. The Explorers return to the field on Tuesday to take on South Dakota and Loyola Chicago at 9 AM and 1 PM, respectively.

GLOUCESTER CITY– Madison McClintock has been the driving force of the Gloucester High School girls basketball team offensively this season, so when she was sitting on the bench with two fouls and two points as the first half came to an end the fact that the Lions were up 14 was more than just a good sign.

McClintock ended up the fourth of four players to score at least nine points Saturday afternoon, with junior Alisha Fox leading the charge with 28. The offensive balance helped No. 2 Gloucester reach a third straight South ersey final with a 67-47 win over Tri-County Conference foe and third-seeded Glassboro.

\”It\’s really good, a team can\’t go after one person, having them surrounding the really dominant player,\” McClintock said. \”People are good outside, more are good inside. We have more flow, you … have to cover every single person.\”

AMERICANS FOR PROSPERITY–We often criticize GOP leaders for not standing firm on limited government principles, but today Americans for Prosperity thanks Speaker John Boehner and House Republicans for standing up to President Obama and making sure the $85 billion in much-needed sequester spending cuts took effect.

 

Despite a relentlessly hysterical campaign from President Obama and the Left claiming that sequester cuts would end American civilization as we know it, the sun still rose this morning. For the first time in a long time, genuine substantive spending reductions actually took effect and the government is running just a bit leaner.

Gloucester Catholic, the second seed, will face top-seeded Red Bank Catholic at Jackson Liberty in the sectional final Tuesday at 4PM. Gloucester Catholic is ranked 20th in the state. 

Saturday, according to NJ.com, Becky Pund led all scorers with 21 points in the Gloucester Catholic High School girls basketball team’s 71-24 Non-Public South A semifinal playoff victory over Monsignor Donovan.

Mary Gedaka and Maggie McIntyre combined for 29 points, hitting six 3s between them in the win. Dana Carbone had 10 points in the loss.
