Hodgson Hits Grand Slam, Records 5 RBIs in Loss to Dayton

PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle softball team lost both games in today\’s conference doubleheader against the Dayton Fliers, 9-6 and 7-1, respectively.
 
The Explorers scored six runs on just four hits in game one, largely due to a grand slam in the fourth from junior Megan Hodgson, who recorded five RBIs in the game. The inning started with a walk by sophomore Kristin Travers followed by two quick outs. Sophomore Alyssa Bitsimis provided a double to left center which setup another walk, this time from freshman Kendra Heyer. A third walk in the inning from senior Liz Reed gave La Salle its second run of the afternoon but they still trailed 5-2. With the bases loaded, two outs, and the Explorers in dire need a big inning, Hodgson delivered with a long ball over the left field wall to give La Salle a 6-5 lead.

Hire Our Heroes Job Fair for Veterans on April 25th
The Camden County Board of Freeholders, and Office of Veteran Affairs, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, ESGR and The American Legion, and their Camden County Executive Committee, is announcing a Hiring Our Heroes (HOH) job and coaching fair, which is part of a nationwide effort to help veterans and military spouses find meaningful employment.

\”The Board of Freeholders is very happy to be co-sponsoring the Hiring Our Heroes Job Fair,\” said Camden County Freeholder Board Deputy Director, Edward T. McDonnell, who is liaison to the county’s Office of Veteran Affairs. \”We are committed to our veterans and want to help them in every way possible as they pursue a new career after serving our country.\”

The hiring event will be hosted by the Susquehanna Bank Center 1, Harbour Blvd., Camden, NJ 08103, NJ, and sponsored by those listed above. Veterans and their spouses are encouraged to take advantage of this event, on Thursday, April 25, 2013, from 11 am to 2 p.m., at the Susquehanna Bank Center.
