May 1, 2013–The Gloucester Lion\’s Baseball Team\’s hitting woes continued for a third straight game. After two consecutive loss\’s this week (Gloucester Institute of Technology 3 -0 / Glassboro 2 – 0) the Lion\’s traveled to Penns Grove a team on a 9 game losing streak.

Looking to reverse the offensive drought the Lion\’s sent Junior pitcher Austin Darrow to the mound. In his preivous start Darrow struck out 10 Glassboro batters taking a scoreless game into the 8th inning before losing 2 – 0 on a couple fielding miscues. His unlucky streak continued in Penns Grove where he allowed 6 hits on several fly ball miscues again while allowing two Penns Grove runners to score in their last at bat. .

The past week saw Senior Steven Bobo pitch a fantastic game but no run production put a loss in front of his name. The Lion\’s pitcher Bobo and Darrow) this week have allowed 4 earned runs in three games and have resulted in the Lions falling to a 3 and 9 record.

The Lion\’s look to rebound in Saturday\’s Jim Kelly Tournament Championship game against Woodbury home starting at 2:30
