\"JasonBellmawr native Jason Nark has won 5 awards from the New Jersey chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, as reported at Philly.com. Jason is a Daily News reporter (previously with the Courier-Post) and is currently living in Blackwood…

…but he was raised in Bellmawr, NJ!

The article goes on to say that Jason\’s 5 awards included two first-place prizes.

Jason grew up in Bellmawr, attending Annunciation School, and then Gloucester Catholic. He went on to Rutgers for his bachelor\’s degree and the University of Penn for his Masters.

Very impressive for anyone… and even more awesome when it\’s a Bellmawr guy!

Jason started his working career in Bellmawr at the Bellmawr English Pizza, which he recently commented \”got paid to fold boxes there when I was 10\”. He had a brief stint at Sneakin\’ In, and was a life-guard at Hyde Park Apartments.

Who knew that those early careers with pizza boxes, sneakers and life-guarding would lead him to achieving great successes in both his education and career?!

Awesome job Jason!

Disabled NJ drivers will have to re-apply for handicap tags every 3 years – phillyburbs.com: Burlington County Times

By Steven Hart Correspondent PhillyBurbs.com

Parking privileges for handicapped drivers will have to be reaffirmed every three years under a policy that the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission will start phasing in on Aug. 1.

Under the new program, motorists will have to submit a doctor’s certification in order to keep using the license tags and rearview hang tags that enable them to park in designated spaces, according to Raymond Martinez, chairman and chief administrator of the commission.

This does not mean all handicapped drivers must rush to renew immediately, Martinez said. Drivers will be notified as part of their regular registration renewal.

\”Most people probably don’t know why this is necessary, because most people wouldn’t think of using a handicapped parking space if they weren’t entitled to it,\” Martinez said. \”There is a lot of abuse, and this will help curb it.\”
