OMAHA, Neb. — In the three days since winning the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award, UCLA sophomore David Berg has proven — twice — he is incredibly worthy of the honor.

Berg, a right-handed submariner, shut down NC State’s comeback bid in the last two innings en route to the Bruins’ 2-1 victory in the College World Series on Tuesday — two days after tossing a scoreless inning of relief in a 2-1 win against LSU.

Mississippi State Senior Trey Porter Shines, Bulldogs Come from Behind to Beat Indiania

OMAHA, Neb. — Mississippi State senior Trey Porter may not get many chances to step to the plate, but he made the most of his opportunity in the Bulldogs’ come-from-behind 5-4 victory against Indiana in the College World Series on Monday night.

The Bulldogs trailed 3-2 with two outs and the bases loaded in the sixth inning when Porter got his shot to shine. He ripped a line drive deep to right-center drawing gasps from the crowd of 25,260 at TD Ameritrade Park, but IU rightfielder Will Nolden caught Porter’s ball, ending the inning and stranding three runners on base.

Lindenwold bus crash – Dash Cam video

Yesterday an out-of-control school bus crossed the yellow line of the busy Blackwood-Clementon road, hit an oncoming car, and then ran off the road hitting a man mowing a lawn.

WPVI Action News has exclusive \”dash cam\” video of the accident.

The driver of the car, and the man mowing the lawn were taken to the hospital.

It could have been much worse… thankfully the bus driver was the only person on the bus.

Details of the circumstances surrounding the accident seem unclear. Philly.com provides some additional information.

On 5/24/13 Officers responded to a robbery at the Citgo Gas Station on Route 130. The $\"Bpdpatch\"$ employee stated that a white male attempted to snatch the money from his hands after asking if he had change for a one hundred dollar bill. The male was unsuccessful in taking the money and jumped back into the vehicle and the driver sped off.

The vehicle was located shortly thereafter parked in the Bellmawr Manor. Assisting units stood by while a Pennsauken K9 unit attempted to track the two suspects. The K9 track was successful and the two suspects were located in a wooded area. Both males were taken into custody.

Adam Matthew Watson, 29, of Haddonfield was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Robbery. He was processed and released with a superior court date. Joshua Mattew Breithaupt, 31, of Oaklyn was charged with Robbery and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery. Breithaupt was processed and remanded into the Camden County Jail in default of bail.

Ironically, both productions are based on real events involving world historical African Americans. Indeed, regarding the current wave of Black-themed plays, a member of the Miami crew quipped at an opening night after party, \”it’s not even February!\” (This wisecrack, of course, refers to Black History Month, when African American works are often highlighted — or ghettoized, depending on your P.O.V.)

OMAHA, Neb. – Oregon State used a seven-run fourth inning to break open the game against mistake-prone Louisville and the Beavers stayed alive in the College World Series with an 11-4 victory on Monday.

The No. 3 national seed Beavers (51-12) play another elimination game Wednesday against Mississippi State or Indiana. The Cardinals (51-14) committed four errors against the Beavers and 13 in their last six games.

On June 15, 2013, lifelong resident of Gloucester City, NJ, age 82 years. She is the beloved companion of Joseph B. Gross, loving mother of Caroline Burkhardt, Terry Williams (John) and the late John E., and Joseph J. Harrison, cherished grandmother of John, Nicole, Richie, Charles, Tracy and the late Michelle and Mandy, and great grandmother to 11 great grandchildren.

She is also the dear sister of Mary Barrett and Darlene Burkhardt. Mrs. Harrison loved camping, crabbing and going to the Casino’s.

Relatives and friends are invited to meet Thursday morning from 9:00 to 11:00am at the ETHERINGTON-CRERAN FUNERAL HOME 700 Powell Street, Gloucester City. Funeral Services will be held 11:00am at the Funeral Home. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
