Beloved mother of Stevenson Alex Snape. Dear sister of Michael S. Snape, Cecily D. Swisher, Susan Mary Sadtler (Ted), Margaret M. Snape and the late John and David. Devoted aunt of Max Sadtler (Yvonne), Tracey Rankus (David) and Stephaine C. Coslove (Chris) and of 5 great nieces and nephews. Also survived by good friend and neighbor Dee, nurse Lynn, special aides Diane and Lucy and many other dear friends especially Sr. Philomena.
Patricia worked for Edmunds Scientific in Barrington and Metrologic in Blackwood. She was a volunteer for Contact Community Services as a reassurance phone worker. Patricia was an expert gift wrapper and crafter who loved baking. She was deeply devoted to her faith.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing from 7 to 9pm Wednesday evening at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.
Funeral Mass 10am Thursday at St. Rita Cascia Parish, St. Francis de Sales Church, 199 Wilmont Avenue & Gloucester Pike, Barrington, NJ.
Interment private.

After being helped by the American Red Cross, people displaced by Superstorm Sandy are excited and thankful to move back into a permanent home. For some families however, the home they’re excited
about moving into is more than 1,000 miles away.
James and Jeri-Ann Henson were homeowners in Island Park, a small village on Long Island with fewer than 4,700 residents.
Jeri-Ann’s father and mother built the three-bedroom house five decades ago and raised six children there.

With all of the scandals the Obama administration has been involved in of late, it\’s not surprising that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives\’ ill-fated \”Operation Fast and Furious\” would fade from the public\’s memory. Conceived as a secretive \”gun-walking\” scheme, \”Fast and Furious\” instead became a deadly debacle that came to light with the murder of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.
Numerous investigations and hearings culminated with the nation\’s top law enforcement officer, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, being found in contempt of Congress. That was more than a year ago, and Holder remains in contempt of Congress for his role in the operation and subsequent cover-up. That\’s likely to remain the case, as President Obama invoked executive privilege to protect Holder from providing requested, and potentially further incriminating, documents to Congress.
While \”Fast and Furious\” has been relegated to the back burner, reports of continuing carnage directly attributable to the failed operation continue.
The most recent revelation regarding yet another \”Fast and Furious\” related fatality involves the death of Luis Lucio Rosales Astorga, a police chief in the Mexican city of Hostotipaquillo.
A Justice Department document obtained by the Los Angeles Times revealed that the police chief was shot to death on January 29, when gunmen intercepted and opened fire on his patrol car. One bodyguard was also killed.
The rifle used to kill the chief was a \”Fast and Furious\” gun that was traced back to a gun store in Glendale, Ariz., nearly 1,000 miles from Hostotipaquillo.
As the body count climbs, a public accounting of the inventory of \”walked\” guns remains unavailable, and the American public is left waiting for information and a just resolution to the infamous scandal until the next \”Fast and Furious\” gun crime is reported.

In the past year – in fact, in every year now, according to the Holy See – more than 100,000 Christians are killed worldwide for reasons related to their faith. That’s the real cost of discipleship. That’s a measure of heroic character.

Lewis R. Atkinson, of Gloucester City NJ died following a brief illness on July 13, 2013 at the age of 69. Loving son of Mary Elizabeth (nee Tesmar) and
the late Lewis Israel Atkinson. Cherished brother of Dorothy M. (Edward) Holpak, David J. (Marcia) Atkinson, Joanne (David) Howey and the late MaryBeth Merryfield. Beloved uncle of George, Lewis, Dacia, Tanya, Michael, Christina and Rachael.
Lou was born in Philadelphia, PA and was a graduate of Sacred Heart Catholic Grammar School in South Camden on June 14th, 1959. He graduated from Gloucester Catholic High School on June 3, 1963.
Lewis proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force from November 25, 1964 and was made a Sgt. and a SSgt. on September 1, 1973. He was skilled at map-compiling and was an analyst for the U.S. Air Force. Lewis was honorably discharged on January 28, 1976 from March Air Force Base in Riverside County, California.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Studies in August 1976 from Chapman College in Orange County, California. He earned a teaching certificate in Social Studies from Glassboro State College. Lewis had a true passion for teaching and a believer in children to learn. He taught United States History, World History and Economics at Camden County Technical High Schools for 25 years in Sicklerville. Lewis was a substitute teacher at the Camden County Technical High School Pennsauken Campus and taught adult evening high School at Camden County Technical High School for 20 years. He served as the advisor for the school newspaper and student council for five years. Lewis served as the advisor for the \”Voice of Democracy\” speech contest sponsored by the VFW for five years. He coached the track and field team for eight years. Lewis retired from teaching on October 1, 2003.
Lewis was devoted to his Roman Catholic faith and was a lifelong devoted parishioner of Saint Mary’s R.C. Church in Gloucester City where he served on Parish Council, President for two years, Lector , Extraordinary Minister, Usher at 11:30 am Mass, taught Religious Education and was on the Church Finance Council. Lewis was very involved in the planning of the Christmas Pageant in Advent and the Church Seder Meal during Lent.
Lewis enjoyed traveling to most part of the United States of America and lived in the State of New Jersey, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Florida and California.
Relatives, friends, former teachers, former students and members of the Knights of Columbus are kindly invited to attend his viewing on Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 11:30 AM at Saint Mary’s R.C.
