Senate Republican Leader Tom Kean Jr. stated the following regarding today’s announcement of Monday morning’s Senate session, which is currently devoted to one open space agenda item.

\”I’m glad that Senate Democrats have finally decided to show up to work in Trenton this summer,\” said Kean (R-Union, Somerset, Morris). \”But that’s only half the battle. I urge Senate President Sweeney to make this voting session mean more. Whenever we meet, we should be doing everything possible to address the people’s two top issues: taxes and jobs.\”

A portion of the partnership which owns Brooklawn\’s Metro Diner is branching out into Gloucester Township.

Remodeling is under way at the long closed Charlie Brown\’s Steakhouse building, located near Camden County College. The new location will be called Lamp Post Diner, and a family restaurant is a primary focus.

Update: I spoke to Paul at the Metro Diner today (7/27/2013) to clarify the ownership of the new Blackwood location. While Paul is part of a partnership which owns The Metro diner… that same full group of partners are not opening up the Lamp Post Diner in Blackwood. Paul, who is a very familiar friendly face at the Brooklawn location, is taking on the Lamp Post Diner project outside of the Metro Diner partnership. So while there is a connection between the new Lamp Post Diner and the Metro diner, that does not extend into the \”portfolio\” of places listed on the main page of the Metro Diner site.

A real-estate listing and marketing PDF, lists the property and liquor license at $1.8 million. The PDF includes a blueprint of the closed Charlie Brown\’s with its large front bar. I have no indications on what changes are planned.

 
HARRISBURG – Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane today announced that the Attorney General\’s Child Predator Section arrested five Pittsburgh men in the past two weeks as part of ongoing efforts to target the online sharing, downloading and distribution of child pornography.
 
Kane identified the defendants as:

• Andrew Kuhns, 26, 1552 Barr Ave., Pittsburgh; 
• George O\’Toole, 18, 723 Wymore St., Pittsburgh;
• Charles A. Hatfield, 70, 5872 Darlington Road, Pittsburgh; 
• Nicholas Alexander Fratangelo, 23, 415 Kambach St., Pittsburgh; and 
• Randy Dare Glota, 23, 12 Mullooly St., Pittsburgh.

MOUNT LAUREL NJ (July 24,2013)–BURGLARY: (Brentonwood) A resident of the unit block of Ardleigh Court reported a burglary and theft to a residence. The incident occurred between 4:00 PM June 23 and 4:00 PM July 6. Entry was gained by forcing the rear window. Jewelry, valued at approximately $3,000.00, was taken.

 

THEFT: An employee of the Interfaith Hospitality Network on the 200 block of Mount Laurel Road reported a theft. A computer and other items, valued at over $500.00, were taken from an unlocked office. The incident occurred between 5:00 PM, July 11 and 9:00 AM, July 16.

SHOPLIFTING: An employee of the Justice clothing store on Centerton Road reported a shoplifting. Twenty seven pairs of jeans, valued at $1,100.00 were taken without payment while the clerk was distracted by another customer. The incident occurred between 3:30 PM and 3:50 PM, July 22.
