Definitely a can\’t-miss Philly festival, Odunde returns celebrating the coming of another year for people of African descent, and beyond. More than just a one day festival, Odunde will again present a week of holistic programming, including story-sharing, a mixer at Ms. Tootsie\’s, family day at the Please Touch Museum and Philly\’s largest Zumba class. Of course, Odunde will again host its signature street festival in Graduate Hospital, complete with an African marketplace, food vendors and live entertainment.

Obituary: Ethel A. Super formerly of Gloucester Heights, National Park, and Runnemede

\"6a00d8341bf7d953ef01a3fcef1127970b-800wi\"Ethel A. Super (nee Sturgis), passed away on June 3, 2014, at Manor Care Nursing Home in Sewell. Age 92.

Ethel was born in Gloucester Heights and lived in National Park after she married. She then moved to Runnemede, where she lived for 50 years. She was a member of Chews United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She was a graduate of Paulsboro High School.

Wife of the late Robert L. Super, Sr. She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Ann Green and two sons, Robert L. Super, Jr. (Wendy) and David L. Super (Barbara Ford). Also survived by her grandchildren: Christopher, Gregory, Lee (Caity), and Justin; great grandchildren Aydyn and Maddox; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

There will be a viewing from 10am to 11am Saturday morning at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.

Funeral Service 11am at the funeral home.

Interment Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ethel’s memory to Chews United Methodist Church, PO Box 152, Glendora, NJ 08029 or American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.

MOVING ON UP—Lighthouse Baptist Church Pastor Jim Doster and his wife Robyn are heading

west for Big Sandy, Texas. Pastor Jim has join the staff at the International Alert Academy. His new position is Assistant to the Executive Officer. As for Lighthouse, Pastor George Yurick was installed as the new pastor on June 1. He has been Pastoring a small flock in Sewell in a rented building for about five years. \”He is a wonderful preacher. On May 25 the two churches voted to merge and for Pastor Yurick to lead the church,\” said Pastor Doster. 

Pastor Doster has been the head of Lighthouse Baptist Church, 811 Market Street, since 1993 or for 21-years.

Naked male high on drugs assaults officer and tries to steal police cruiser : Nixle

LINDENWOLD NEW JERSEY–On Tuesday June 3rd, 2014 at 10:22 pm a Lindenwold Officer was in front of the 1100 Building of Arborwood Condos (511 E.Gibbsboro Road) interviewing two suspicious people when a naked male ran up to him and punched him in the face. The male was not part of the initial investigation. The officer then tried to arrest the male who continued to attack him, but had difficulty controlling the male due to the fact that he was naked and sweating profusely. During the struggle the male broke free and jumped into the officers patrol vehicle and tried to steal it but was unable to do so.
