Franklin William Lathrop, Jr., age 65, of Marlton, passed away on December 24, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Lynda (nee Cusintine). Devoted father of Rev. Justin Lathrop (Jennifer) of Deer Park, NY and Melissa Safos (Zachary) of Merchantville, NJ. Loving grandfather of Adella, Francesca and Baby Lathrop. Brother of Donald Lathrop (Denise) and the late Barbara Fritz (Robert). Brother-in-Law of Amanda Kruskal.
A graduate of Gloucester City High School and Glassboro State College, Franklin taught at Audubon and Willingboro High Schools. He also worked as a sales representative and manager for Prudential Insurance Co. for 25 years. He was a former member of the Marlton Jaycees and the Gloucester City Rotary and a current member of Medford Masonic Lodge #178.
A Memorial Service was held on Monday, December 29, 2014 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 61 Rt. 70 East, Marlton, NJ 08053. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Ascension Lutheran Church, 33 Bay Shore Rd., Deer Park, NY 11729, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Dr., Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053 or to Fox Chase Cancer Center, 333 Cottman Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19111.
