In a year of videotaped beheadings, school shootings, Russian invasions and annexations of eastern Ukraine (or, as Valdimir Putin calls them, staycations), Ebola, deadly Mexican cops, deadly American cops, Bashar al-Assad’s readiness to kill his Syrian fellows, Kim Jong Un’s funny/creepy hack of Sony Pictures, the release of those emails revealing that (a) Sony Pictures executives are closet racists and (b) (when they pulled the offending comedy film that irritated KJU) public cowards — in a year like this one, we’re saying, it’s easy to overlook the myriad outrageous acts of your local government bureaucrats. We’re not saying all those in government service are evil, nor even many of them. But they’re out there, the bad or merely incompetent. Watchdog.org’s national network of reporters find them. Every day, we produce investigative stories that reveal what Hannah Arendt famously called \”the banality of evil\” — the little ways in which otherwise average bureaucrats and others participate in acts that range from merely annoying or petty to downright homicidal.

GARDNERSVILLE, Liberia — More than 20 years ago, a terrible crime bloodied this suburb of cinderblock homes, dirt-floor stores and lush green bush grass.

Five American nuns were killed when a vicious battle swept through the town during Liberia\’s civil war. The killers left their bodies burned and broken, rotting in the sun.

The deaths were numerically insignificant in a conflict that by its end in 2003 had left hundreds of thousands of Liberians dead. But the killings crystallized the horror of Liberia\’s long war for Westerners.

A TRIBUTE TO LOUISA W. LLEWELLYN

Louisa Walline Llewellyn, a life-long resident of Gloucester City, passed away on December 26, 2014 from complications of Alzheimer\’s disease. At the time of her death, she was living in Utah with her daughter Glynneth Bockholt and her family.

She was an amazing woman, a person who loved her community, who worked tirelessly for the students of the local public schools in her capacity as a teacher and also as a member of the Gloucester City Board of Education.

Over her tenure in office, she played a significant part in having Gloucester City become an Abbott District. As a result of her leadership, the City School District has received millions of dollars from that State program. Today Abbott Districts are known as SDA Districts (NJ Schools Development Authority).

The SDA funds were used for the construction of the Cold Springs Elementary School, the Cold Springs Pre-School, a new high school gymnasium and for renovations to the Highland Park School, etc. In April 2015 construction will begin on the $87 million middle school, a project that Mrs. Llewellyn lobbied state officials to build since 2002.

Besides monies for renovations and construction of new schools, the City also receives millions from the state each year to supplement the school district\’s budget.

In 2009, Mrs. Llewellyn was honored by the local Lions and Rotary Club as the 19th Annual Citizen of the Year Banquet held at Nicolosi, Woodbury.

Mount Ephraim borough officials started off the first meeting of the New Year by applauding all $\"Archives1\"$ of the work by the many organizations and borough departments over the holiday season. \”A tremendous job was done by all to make this holidays season a bright and cheerful one despite the sluggish economy\” stated Commissioner Bruce Greenwald. Similar comments were echoed by Commissioner Andy Gilmore and Mayor Joe Wolk.

Some of the highlights were the Touch New Jersey Incorporated (food pantry) collecting non perishable items for holiday meals, the Celebration Committee collecting new unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots, Troops Support 08059 sending over 300 gift bags to soldiers serving over seas, the Mount Ephraim Fire Department for hosting the annual Christmas parade, assisting the food pantry and for providing their hall to the Camden County Center Family Services to sort and distribute gifts, Celebrations Committee & the MEFD Ladies Auxiliary for hosting the lunch with Santa at MEPRI to the holiday concerts that were put on by the Public School System.

Man Arrested For Recording Woman Undressing In Her Bathroom, Lakeview Apartments

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP NJ–On 12-30-2014, a Gloucester Township resident walked into police headquarters to report an invasion of her privacy. The victim reported that she was secretly being video recorded by a friend, Carl Camp Jr., from Magnolia, NJ. On several occasions in December, Carl Camp Jr., came to the victim\’s apartment and prior to leaving the home would enter her bathroom and setup a cell phone to record the victim. On a recent occasion the victim had discovered the hidden cell phone and reported it to the Gloucester Township Police Department.

Mrs. Patricia Ann Reynolds, age 61, of Gloucester City, Triton Regional HS Alumnus

Loving mother of Michael Reynolds and his wife, Jaime. Cherished daughter of Patricia Concannon and the late Thomas Concannon. Beloved sister of Maureen Brady (Joseph), Thomas Concannon, Michael Concannon (Andrea), Brian Concannon (Helen) and Christopher Concannon. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Patricia was a graduate of Triton Regional High School class of 1971.

Mark Zuckerberg and Nicholas Hales claim to make more money in an hour
than I have in my lifetime. I have to wonder then, what makes me so
interesting to these men? They are willing to risk going to jail to get
to use my computer. My computer is 15 years old and was given to me
after it was rescued from the trash. Is it me or my computer that
causes these self proclaimed billionaires to spend so much time and
effort in my house? Are they bored with GRAND THEFT AUTO and CALL OF
DUTY and trying to develop new games? New games called \”HARASS THE
ELDERLY\” or \”MAKE THEM MISERABLE IN THEIR LAST DAYS\”.

City Resident Wesley A. Alloway Charged with Aggravated Assault of a Police Officer

GLOUCESTER CITY NJ (December 26, 2014) Gloucester City Police responded at 10:27 pm to the 200 block of Linden Street for a domestic dispute. While investigating the report, one of the individuals involved told the officers they needed to leave because he didn’t want to kill any cops tonight. The individual then shoved one of the officers resulting in his arrest. Wesley A. Alloway (46), a resident of the 200 block of Linden Street, was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, being under the influence of CDS and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was remanded to Camden County Jail after failing to post bail.

Died: December 31, 2014

Beloved wife of the late Peter J. Roccia. Dear sister of Dr. Samuel Pinizzotto, Sr. and Nicholas Pinizzotto, Sr. Sister-in-law of the late Joseph and John Roccia. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Concetta was a member of Runnemede Seniors Club and Circolo Italiano and worked at Bambergers Department Store.

There will be a viewing from 8:30am to 10:15am Tuesday at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE, 126 S. Black Horse Pike, Runnemede, NJ 08078 (856-939-2095).
