William J. Fredhoff, Jr. \”Doc\”, of Bellmawr; GCHS Alumnus; Vietnam War Navy Veteran

 

\"Mime-attachment\"On January 16, 2015. Age 74. Of Bellmawr. Loving husband of Jean L. (nee Davidson). Loving father of William J. Fredhoff, III and his wife, Wendy. Cherished grandfather of William J., IV (wife Erin), Brandon J. (girlfriend Steph) and Justin M. Fredhoff. Beloved brother of Raymond E. Fredhoff (wife Joanne) and Ann F. Smith (husband James). Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. 

 

William attended Gloucester Catholic High School (GCHS) and proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from BP Oil Company as a pipeline operator after 20 years of service. William was a longtime member of the Brooklawn American Legion Post #72 and enjoyed coaching Gloucester City Softball. Doc lived for his grandsons and he never missed any event they participated in. 

 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Wednesday morning, January 21, 2015 from 9:30 to 11 AM at the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth St., Gloucester City. Funeral service 11 AM in the funeral home. Interment New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.

Philly Traffic Court Judge Off to Prison for Lying to Grand Jury

PHILADELPHIA (January 16,2015)—Michael Lowry, 59, of Philadelphia, PA, was sentenced today to 20 months in prison for lying to a grand jury in connection with a ticket fixing scheme at the former Philadelphia Traffic Court. Lowry was a sitting traffic court judge at the time. In addition to the prison term, U.S. District Court Judge Lawrence Stengel ordered one year of supervised release and ordered Lowry to perform 100 hours of community service.

Lowry and co-defendants Robert Mulgrew and Thomasine Tynes were convicted at trial, on July 23, 2014, of committing perjury before a federal grand jury.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. It is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Denise Wolf and Anthony Wzorek.
