WASHINGTON (CN) – The U.S. Supreme Court agreed Friday to hold a hearing for four states that do not want to recognize same-sex marriages or grant licenses to such couples.
Though the justices broke gay-rights ground in June 2013 with United States v. Windsor, that case dealt only with a federal law that the court found was unconstitutional for defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman.

Amanda Dean Sentenced to Prison for Vehicular Homicide

MAYS LANDING A Franklin Township woman was sentenced to State prison yesterday in connection with a 2011 motor vehicle collision that claimed the life of an 81-year-old woman, and injured two others, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.

Yesterday, January 15, Amanda Dean, 28, of the 500 block of Old Harding Highway, Franklin Township, Gloucester County, was sentenced in Atlantic County Superior Court to 5 years in prison for vehicular homicide.

Catherine M. Peacock (nee Kelley), age 90, of Gloucester City

Catherine M. Peacock (nee Kelley), age 90, died January 19, 2015.

Born in Gloucester City, she lived there her entire life. She was a 1942 graduate of Gloucester Catholic High School. Cass was a member of the Gloucester City Historical Society.

She was the beloved wife of the late Henry F. Peacock Sr. Cass is survived by two sons, Henry (Karen) Peacock and Thomas (Barbara) Peacock; her brother, Raymond (Emmeline) Kelley; two grandchildren, Jennifer (George) Hayes and Jeffrey (Lauren) Peacock; and five grandchildren, George, Catherine, Maren, Thomas, and Lucy.

Viewing will be Friday 10-11am at St. Mary\’s Church 426 Monmouth St. Gloucester City, NJ08030. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am. Burial New St. Mary Cemetery Bellmawr.
