On January 25, 2015. (nee Pike) Loving wife of 34 years to the late Walter E. Ramick, Sr. Devoted mother of Walter E. (Renee) Ramick, Jr. of Marlton and Caroline (Michael) Dougherty of Gloucester City. Beloved grandmother of Walter E. (Desiree), III, Stephen C. (Meghan) , Kelli (Mike), Michael (Tabby), David (Maribeth) and Kevin. Cherished great-grandmother of Rhylin, Chad, Emma, Shane, Gemma and \”One on the way.\”

 

Avis was a fantastic mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who loved playing cards and buying her lottery tickets. 

 

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend her viewing on Friday morning from 9 am to 11 am at McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30 am at Saint Mary’s R.C. Church: 426 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City. Interment with her late husband in New Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.

Atlantic City Police Officer Pleads Guilty to Sexual Assault of a Child, and Misconduct as a Cop

MAYS LANDING (January 23, 205) – An Atlantic City Police officer pled guilty today to official\"\" misconduct for exploiting his position as a police officer in order to sexually assault a child, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.

On Monday, May 19, 2014, as a result of an investigation by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit, with the assistance of the Atlantic City Police Department, Atlantic City Police officer Andre L. Corbin, 44, of Northridge Drive, Mays Landing, was arrested without incident in Atlantic City.

Age 80. Of Gloucester City. 

 

11/11/34 – 1/26/15

 

(CNBNews)–Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, wife, Jean (nee DeMora) \"6a00d8341bf7d953ef019b00302b66970c-800wi\" of 57 years, daughters Lisa Labbree (John Banning) and Lori Thomson (Chuck), and son Bill (Tracy). He was much loved by his grandchildren Cole and Shane Banning, Cory, Brandon, Cameron, and Miranda Labbree, and Chelsea, Lindsay, Sydney, and Trey Thomson. He is also survived by his sister Marie Sammons Winkler (Bob), sister-in-law Theresa Lonabaugh, brother-in-law Sam DeMora (Cass), and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

 

Bill was born, raised, and lived his entire life in his beloved Gloucester City. He was a veteran of the US Navy and then began a career in real estate that spanned over 50 years. He opened Labbree Realty in Gloucester City in 1979 and was named Realtor Emeritus by the National Association of Realtors. He was honored by Gloucester City in May 2003 as Citizen of the Year and in April 2014 for his 50 years of service to his community, having been active in many organizations including the Volunteer Fireman’s Association, the Gloucester City Chamber of Commerce and Business Association, the Boys Scouts of America, the JayCees, the Lions Club, and the Gloucester City Board of Education. He was a long-time advocate and benefactor of the Gloucester City Library, serving on the Board of Trustees for over 50 years and acting as the President for 45 years. He was also a sponsor for many youth athletic teams in both Gloucester City and Brooklawn.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday morning, January 31, 2015 from 10 AM to 12 Noon at the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth St., Gloucester City. Life Celebration and Military Honors 12 Noon in the funeral home. Interment will be private.

FBI Releases Preliminary Semiannual Crime Statistics for 2014

Statistics released today in the FBI’s Preliminary Semiannual Uniform Crime Report reveal overall declines in both the number of violent crimes and the number of property crimes reported for the first six months of 2014 when compared with figures for the first six months of 2013. The report is based on information from 11,009 law enforcement agencies that submitted three to six months of comparable data to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program for the first six months of 2013 and 2014.
