WOODBURY NJ (January 26, 2015)The Fugitive Investigation Unit of the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office, assisted by the U.S. Marshal’s Service, arrested Michael J. Joyner (DOB 6/10/82), who had been wanted for violation of his parole.

 

Joyner fled when approached and was apprehended 1/23/15 in a wooded area behind his most recent Baird Ave. address in Paulsboro.

 

In addition to the VOP warrant, Joyner was charged with resisting arrest and possession of narcotics- nine glassine bags containing suspected crack cocaine. He was turned over to the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Department. He is being held without bail.

 

Joyner was paroled 5/29/13 from state prison, where he was serving a five-year sentence on narcotics charges.

 

 

CAMDEN CITY NJ (January 23, 2015)Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo reported a Lindenwold man has been charged for selling heroin to another man who later died of a drug overdose.

Kevin Croxton, M/26, was charged Thursday with first-degree Strict Liability for a Drug-Induced Death.

Elizglie \”Elijah\” H. Brown of Woodbury, NJ, on January 20, 2105. He was 48 years old. Legacy Elijah was born in Brooklyn, New York. He enjoyed worshiping and working in stage and production with Faith Fellowship Ministries of Southern New Jersey. Elijah loved sports, especially football and enjoyed cheering on the local teams. He had a passion for music and loved spending time with his son and with his family at get togethers. (JANUARY 23, 205)HARRISBURG – Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane today announced the arrest of four Pennsylvania men on unrelated charges as the result of ongoing efforts to target the online sharing, downloading and distribution of child pornography. The latest arrests occurred over the past week in Erie, Philadelphia and Washington counties.

CNBNews was contacted recently by a number of parents in Bellmawr, Brooklawn and Gloucester City about the upcoming PARCC exam (Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers) to be given in March. The PARCC is a group of 19 states working together to develop a common set of computer-based K–12 assessments in English language arts/Literacy and math linked to the new, more rigorous Common Core State Standards (CCSS). PARCC is one of the two state consortia developing assessments aligned to the CCSS through the federal Race to the Top assessment grant program.

 

Some parents feel the test doesn’t have any assessment value at all. As such they don’t want their child taking the test. 

 

The one question we keep hearing is, \”What will happen to my child if he/she doesn’t take the test?\” 

TRENTON – Acting Attorney General John J. Hoffman announced that a Flemington man who was arrested last year for allegedly distributing child pornography online was arrested again today on charges he repeatedly telephoned an 11-year-old girl and urged her to send him naked photos of herself after playing games with her and chatting on the Internet.

When a 300-year-old Stradivarius violin valued at more than $5 million was stolen from Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra concertmaster Frank Almond last year, investigators initially believed the theft may have been the work of sophisticated art thieves. The truth turned out to be much less glamorous.
