Troopers from Hamilton Station arrested Benjamin C. Evans, Jr., 53, of Hamilton, N.J., on January 16 for five separate burglaries that occurred between July and December of last year.
Evans allegedly stole jewelry, batteries for farm equipment, scrap metal, and other items totaling more than $15,000. He was observed operating a silver, Toyota Rav4 at separate crime scene locations.
Evans was arrested at his home without incident. He was charged with burglary, theft, criminal attempt, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance (crack cocaine). He was lodged at Monmouth County Jail in lieu of $25,000 with a 10% option.
