Home Invasion Suspect Robert J. Bilhardt, 26 Charged with Attempted Murder of 92-Year-Old Man

ATLANTIC COUNTY February 24, 2015— An Egg Harbor Township man was indicted last week for attempted murder and 9 additional criminal counts, in connection with a home invasion robbery committed against a 92-year-old man EHT man in 2013, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.

On Wednesday, February 18, 2015, an Atlantic County Grand Jury indicted Robert J. Bilhardt, 26, of the Tower East Mobile Home Park, Tremont Avenue, Egg Harbor Township, ten (10) criminal counts in connection with the December 2013 home invasion robbery of Charles Sweetman, then 92-years-old, a resident of the same community.

When I became a case manager with Catholic Charities’ regional office in Atlantic City 14 years ago, one of the first people to touch my life was George.

He’s at our office every few weeks. Usually he needs help filling out forms or understanding various social services. He’s 76 years old and can barely read. To be honest, he can be tiring at times.

Bayshore Communities Recovery Committee Reviews 26-project Recovery Plan


On Tuesday, March 3, 2015 the Bayshore Communities Recovery Committee will present a full assessment of the ambitious, 26-project Recovery Plan introduced in the winter of 2014.

The event will be held at Cumberland County College in the Luciano Conference Center from 5:30-9:00 p.m. and will include presentations from the Bayshore Center at Bivalve, the American Littoral Society, the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary, the International Economic Development Council and the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs. Local, state and federal legislative leaders have also been invited to attend and outline the work they are doing on behalf of the Bayshore region.
