OWINGS MILLS, MD (02/23/2015)(readMedia)– Stevenson University men\’s and women\’s swim teams had an outstanding first season. Both teams competed in the Diamond City Invitational where they put on an excellent performance resulting in a combined 31 points during the event. The Mustangs wrapped up their season by sending a combined five members to the MAC Championship.

The Mid Atlantic Conference Championship was held at Graham Aquatic Center in York, Pennsylvania. The women\’s team members that attended were: Adrianna Kamosa, Alison Smith, Katherine Bateman, and Megan Grieshaber. The sole men\’s team member Zachary Cather also attended the MAC Championship.

An Amber Alert has been extended to Ohio for a little girl last seen in New Castle, Delaware, at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Authorities say the suspect, who is the little girl’s father, is believed to be armed and dangerous. The suspect fled the scene in a 1989 gray Mazda 626 bearing Delaware registration 247457 after
forcefully taking the vehicle from its owner.

Elinor Trotta, three, was last seen on 800 East Basin Road in the city of New Castle. She was last seen wearing a purple puffy coat, pink pants and ‘Frozen\” sneakers. She’s described as being white and weighing 60 pounds with brown hair.

The suspect, Michael Trotta, is a white male with brown hair. He was last seen wearing all black clothing and is described as being 5’8″ tall and weighing 160 pounds.

Authorities say Elinor was taken during a domestic dispute. Authorities say Trotta has family residing in the Midwest, and he may be traveling through Ohio to relatives.

I come before you today to present my budget for the Fiscal Year 2016. For the sixth time in a row, the budget I present is balanced. For the sixth time, it includes no new taxes on the people of New Jersey.

Spending is again held in line, at $33.8 billion, $2.3 billion less in discretionary spending than in Fiscal Year 2008. I am not talking about spending adjusted for inflation – I am saying that in nominal dollars, New Jersey has not increased spending over where we were in Fiscal Year 2008.

Joseph A. Genovese, Jr., on February 22, 2015, of Williamstown; formerly of Gloucester City. Age 55.

Beloved son of Cecelia Carter and Joseph A. Genovese, Sr. (Alice). Dear brother of Michael A. (Cynthia) and Stephen A. (Juliet). Uncle of Stephen G., Paulina A., and Kristina K. Genovese and Billy Maiese. Nephew of George Wilson, Jr.

Joseph was a graduate of Gloucester City High School, Class of 1977. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany. He was a member of American Legion Post #252, Williamstown. Joseph also worked with Toys for Tots and the Stand Down Group. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service 11am Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 200 E. Clements Bridge Road, Runnemede, NJ 08078. The Gloucester City Mustangs, Gloucester City Girls Softball, Gloucester City Soccer, Carmen Palmeiro Basketball League and Gloucester Little League rely on the efforts of volunteers.

These organizations charge a fee to participate, and to a few people the fee charged may seem high, but when you investigate the cost to participate in other communities you have to wonder how Gloucester Athletics can be so reasonable.

 

Look at your son or daughter’s uniform and you will see a name of a business or group on the front. It may be considered advertising to some people but how many of you have made

an effort to either support or even give thanks to these sponsors. Many sponsors donate to these Leagues even during these difficult times to help offset the cost each athlete pays to participate. During the past year, many of these contributors have made an extra effort to support the Gloucester City Little League during last year’s financial difficulties.

 

On February 21, 2015. Age 82, of Gibbstown. Survived by his daughter, Nedda J. Mullans (Richard, III) of Paulsboro; sons, Alfred A. and Russell C. Monaco both of Gibbstown, grandson, Michael Mullans. Thomas was predeceased by his wife of 29 years, Lucia Eva Sorbello Monaco, his parents, Benjamin and Nedda Monaco and his brother, Sam Monaco. Funeral Services will be celebrated on Friday, February 27^th at 11:00 am at the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth St., Gloucester City, where family and friends may visit from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Thomas will be buried privately at a later date in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Swedesboro.
