Home Surveillance System Helps Gloucester City Police Department Apprehend Robbery Suspect; Police Respond to 13-Auto-Accidents Last Week

GLOUCESTER CITY NJ February 1, 2015 at 10:59AM–Gloucester City Police arrested a suspect for a robbery in the 500 block of Mercer Street after a resident reported a male entered his enclosed front porch on January 31^st at approximately 2:49 pm, placed several items from the porch in a bag and left the area. The incident was recorded on his home surveillance system and a copy of the video was provided to the officer. The officer positively identified the male as Patrick Merrill (56), a resident of the 800 block of Mercer Street. A warrant was issued for Merrill for burglary and theft and on February 2^nd. at 10:52 am Merrill was arrested on Broadway and Monmouth Street. He was later remanded to Camden County Jail in default of bail.
