Kenneth E. Christy, Sr. of Deptford

Born in Barrington, NJ to the late Edwin A. and Anna Elizabeth (nee Bingham). Devoted husband of 50 years to Elizabeth. Loving father of Casey (Shelley) of Haddon Heights and Brandon of West Deptford, and grandfather of Tyler, Myranda, Zachary, and Rylie. Dear brother of Wayne of Barrington and Edwin of Palm Beach, FL. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Anne Durkin, his sister and brother-in-law, Annette and Mark Radick, several nieces and nephews, as well as his family of friends in the Villages, Florida.

Ken grew up in Barrington, and then made Glendora his home for 35 years. In later years, he lived in the Villages, Florida. Ken was a baseball coach and treasurer for the Glendora Little League. His passion was watching his sons play baseball and followed their baseball teams into their college years and beyond. He attended Rutgers University in Camden, NJ.

Ken was a devoted employee of NJ American Water for 38 years as the Water Quality Control Supt. He was a member of The South Jersey Water Superintendents Association.

Ken was a classic car enthusiast and his prized possession is his 1991 Camaro.

Ken enjoyed traveling with his wife and they took many trips during their later years of marriage.

There will be a viewing from 6 to 8pm Sunday evening and from 9:15 to 10:15am Monday morning at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.

Funeral Mass 11am Monday at St. Rose of Lima RC Church, 300 Kings Highway, Haddon Heights, NJ.

Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chews Landing.
