CNB MEDICAL NEWS:Keeping Mind, Body Active May Not Protect Against Underlying Signs of Alzheimer’s

Newswise — MINNEAPOLIS – While participating in physical activities such as bike riding, dancing, walking and gardening and mentally stimulating activities such as crosswords and reading may reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease, they may not do so by affecting the underlying markers for the disease, according to a study published in the June 10, 2015, online issue of Neurology®, the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology.

\”While a lifelong history of physical and mental activity may support better memory and thinking performance, this relationship may possibly be separate from any protection against the markers of Alzheimer’s disease in the brain,\” said study author Keith A. Johnson, MD, with Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

ALERT: Look What Just Happened to Residents of Neighborhood Where McKinney Incident Occurred

\”This was a Twitter party that turned into a mob event,\” said McKinney resident Bryan Gestner. \”Jumping pool fence. Assaulting 2 security guards, attacking a mother with three little girls. The video doesn’t show everything.\”

Gestner also alleged that the kids at the pool were drinking and smoking weed while ignoring the adults present.

\”This isn’t about race,\” he continued. \”This is about outside kids invading our neighborhood and had no respect for authority or the residents here. I have a target on my back now, and I have been threatened by these punks that they are gonna shoot up my house, when all I did was try to control the mob and actually tended to the girl and the boy that had a bloody lip.\”

\”Y’all don’t know the whole story,\” Gestner said. \”I commend the officer for handling this situation.\”
