Reminder for the week: Practice safe boating over the 4th of July holiday weekend

 

DOVER (July 2, 2015) – To achieve public compliance through education and enforcement actions that help conserve Delaware’s fish and wildlife resources and ensure safe boating and public safety, DNREC Division of Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police officers between June 22-28 made 1,937 contacts with anglers, boaters and the general public, including 289 vessel boardings for boating safety and fishing regulation compliance checks. Officers responded to 69 complaints and issued 55 citations, three of which were related to the C&D Canal Conservation Area and associated recreational trail, where there is an increased Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police presence.

CNB CRIME: Three Individuals Arrested for Shooting in Gloucester Township

Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Gloucester Township Police Chief Harry Earle reported that three individuals have been arrested for a shooting that occurred on Sunday, June 28, 2015.

On Sunday, June 28, at approximately 9:00 pm, Gloucester Township Police officers responded to a report of a man shot on Berkshire Road. Officers found a 21-year-old Gloucester Township man lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound. He was airlifted to Cooper Medical Center where he is still recovering from his injuries.

Catholic School Teacher Fired for Same-Sex Marriage Files Federal Lawsuit

A Catholic school in Macon, Ga., is facing a federal discrimination lawsuit from a former teacher whose employment was terminated in 2014 after the school found that he would be legally marrying his same-sex partner.

\”The argument being made in this suit—that a Catholic school’s commitment to upholding Catholic teaching on marriage is discriminatory toward homosexual employees—is a grave threat to Catholic education,\” said Patrick Reilly, president of The Cardinal Newman Society.
