Vantage Communications Must Pay $20,000 to Employee to Resolve Allegation

TRENTON – The Division on Civil Rights announced today that Vantage Communications has agreed to pay a former employee $20,000 to resolve allegations it unlawfully dismissed the worker soon after he requested disability leave to undergo hip surgery. 

Vantage, which sells telephones and other communications products and services, at one time operated a facility in Ewing, Mercer County. Complainant Michael O’Shea worked out of the company’s Ewing office for approximately 16 months before being terminated in the summer of 2009.
