Washington Township Man Indicted on Four Counts of Forgery 

Woodbury, NJ – A Gloucester County Grand Jury has indicted Richard Bennett of  Washington Township on four counts of fourth-degree forgery Wednesday. 

The indictment alleges two counts of forgery in violation of NJSA 2C:21-1a(1) and two  counts in violation of NJSA 2C:21-1a(3). Each count carries a maximum penalty of 18  months in state prison. 

According to documents filed in this case: 

Bennett, who was a sitting Washington Township council member, mailed harassing  letters to two members of his local Board of Education in the name of another board  member. 

Defense Counsel: Nicholas J. Yurick of the Law Offices of Andrew N. Yurick. 

The charges against Bennett are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed  innocent unless and until proven guilty.
