Philly AIDS Thrift Announces 2026 Grant Awards Supporting HIV/AIDS Services Across Greater Philadelphia
Community donations become direct funding for essential HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and support services.
Philadelphia, PA – Philly AIDS Thrift is proud to announce $404,557.00 in community grant funding to 33 nonprofit organizations delivering HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and support services across Greater Philadelphia. With this grant cycle, the organization surpasses $5.6 million in total donations since its founding, reflecting its long-term commitment to community-based HIV/AIDS services.
Many community organizations across the region face growing demand for services, while navigating shifting and increasingly constrained funding. Philly AIDS Thrift’s grant program provides consistent, community-driven support for prevention, care, housing stability, healthcare access, outreach, education, harm reduction, and essential support services to populations most impacted by HIV/AIDS. In an evolving public health and nonprofit funding landscape, sustained community investment is more essential than ever.
Philly AIDS Thrift established its Grant Program in 2014 to deepen its community impact and support a broader network of local HIV/AIDS service organizations. This year’s grant cycle represents the largest single distribution of grant funding in the organization’s history, reflecting both the growth of the program and the continued generosity of the community. Even amid economic challenges, the program has remained committed to sustaining essential services that strengthen community health and resilience.
“Every year, it’s incredibly rewarding to see how community support turns into real resources for organizations doing vital work across the Delaware Valley,” says Philly AIDS Thrift’s Board President, Michael Byrne. “We’re especially excited to be awarding our highest amount of grant funding ever, and that speaks to the dedication of our staff, volunteers, donors, and customers who make this possible. We’re so thankful for the community that continues to show up and make this impact possible!”
Philly AIDS Thrift’s Executive Director and Cofounder, Christina Kallas-Saritsoglou, adds, “What makes this work so meaningful is seeing how everyday actions through donations, sorting, and sales translate directly into support for people living with HIV/AIDS. We’re incredibly grateful for our team and the community that has supported us for more than 20 years.”
Through year-round donations of gently used items, Philly AIDS Thrift generates funding that supports future grantmaking and sustained community impact.
The next application cycle for grant proposals opens in October 2026.
