Voters should remember who these clowns are at election time

Clearysnotebook,

I find it very amusing that after seven years of a constant power struggle between Republicans and Democrats just to prove who has the power regardless of how they affect and enable this country.

Now that they finally realize and understand how very close they have come to collapsing our economy they can come together to pass a bill for \”economic relief\” in record time. (maybe because their relatives will be recipients of these checks). Too bad the relief is only a band aid trying to close open heart surgery.

But even with the urgency of this bill the Senate still finds it necessary to
find it within themselves to add to this bill.(old habits are just so hard to break). Voters should remember who these clowns are at election time and start making changes.

Sincerely,

Bill Balsamico

Letters: CLINTON / OBAMA or OBAMA / CLINTON

Clearysnotebook,

After watching the Democratic debate Thursday night Jan 31, 2008 it is this \”SIGN WRITER\’S\” conclusion that we witnessed the Democratic
ticket for the final stretch, regardless who wins the nomination. CLINTON / OBAMA or OBAMA / CLINTON. It\’s just a matter of ego adjustment.

Are they going to send each other ROSES and CANDY for Valentine\’s Day?

Sincerely,
Bill Balsamico

TCNJ MEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM TO PARTICIPATE IN NABC’S

Ewing, NJ…The College of New Jersey men’s basketball team will compete on February 2 at New Jersey City University in a New Jersey Athletic Conference contest at 7 p.m. in the John J. Moore Athletic and Fitness Center on the NJCU campus (Jersey City, NJ).

Both TCNJ and NJCU’s coaching staff will be participating in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers program slated for February 1-3.

The coaching staffs at both institutions will join other head college basketball coaches and their coaching staffs across the country as they wear sneakers with their game attire to show their support in the fight against cancer. National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) member coaches want to express the importance of cancer prevention and early detection.

Join NABC coaches and their staff members this weekend (Feb. 1-3) as they wear sneakers with their game attire to show their support in the fight against cancer. By wearing sneakers with their suits, participating coaches are drawing attention to the fact that while cancer remains a major health concern, we can all reduce our risk; for those who don’t smoke, control their weight, exercise, and maintain a healthy diet are the best ways to reduce the risk of cancer. The American Cancer Society can help by providing free, lifesaving information, resources and services to anyone affected by cancer.

WHEN EAST MEETS WEST: Church Bulletin Booo-Boos

By Hank F. Miller Jr

I received this from a good friend awhile back.

Thank God for church ladies with typewriters. These sentences actually appeared in church bulletins or were announced at church services:

The Fasting & Prayer Conference: includes meals.

The sermon this morning: \”Jesus walks on the Water.\” The sermon tonight: \”Searching for
Jesus.\”

Ladies, don\’t forget the rummage sale. It\’s a chance to get rid of those things not worth
keeping around the house. Bring your husbands.

The peacemaking meeting scheduled for today has been canceled due to a conflict.

Remember in prayer the many that are sick of our community. Smile at someone who is hard
to love. Say \”Hell\” to someone who doesn\’t care much about you.

Don\’t let worry kill you off — let the Church help.

Miss Charlene Mason sang \”I will not pass this way again,\” giving obvious pleasure to the
congregation.

For those of you who have children and don\’t know it, we have a nursery downstairs.

Next Thursday there will be tryouts for the choir. They need all the help they can get.

The Rector will preach his farewell message after which the choir will sing: \”Break Forth into
Joy.\”

Irving Benson and Jessie Carter were married on October 24 in the church. So ends a friendship that began in their school days.

At the evening service tonight, the sermon topic will be \”What Is Hell?\” Come early and listen
to our choir practice.

Eight new choir robes are currently needed due to the addition of several new members and
to the deterioration of some older ones.

Scouts are saving aluminum cans, bottles and other items to be recycled. Proceeds will be
used to cripple children.

Please place your donation in the envelope along with the deceased person you want
remembered.

The church will host an evening of fine dining, super entertainment and gracious hostility.

Potluck supper Sunday at 5:00 PM – prayer and medication to follow.

The ladies of the Church have cast off clothing of every kind. They may be seen in the
basement on Friday afternoon.

This evening at 7 PM there will be hymn singing in the park across from the Church. Bring a blanket and come prepared to sin.

Ladies Bible Study will be held Thursday morning at 10 AM. All ladies are invited to lunch in
the Fellowship Hall after the B.S. is done.

The pastor would appreciate it if the ladies of the congregation would lend him their electric
girdles for the pancake breakfast next Sunday.

Low Self-Esteem Support Group will meet Thursday at 7 PM. Please use the back door.

The eighth-graders will be presenting Shakespeare\’s Hamlet in the Church
basement Friday at 7 PM. The congregation is invited to attend this tragedy.

Weight Watchers will meet at 7 PM at the First Presbyterian Church. Please use large double
door at the side entrance.

Warm Regards from Kitakyushu City, Japan.

Hank F. Miller Jr.
