Camden County Office of Emergency Management issues “Code Blue”

The Camden County Office of Emergency Management declared that Camden County will be under a Code Blue Advisory from for the following dates and times due to projected dangerously low temperatures by the National Weather Service:

  • Sunday, March 1, 7 p.m. – Tuesday, March 3, 7 a.m.
    • Projected temperature: 27°F
  • Tuesday, March 3, 7 p.m. – Wednesday, March 4, 7 a.m.
    • Projected temperature: 29°F
  • Wednesday, March 4, 7 p.m. – Thursday, March 5, 7 a.m.
    • Projected temperature: 29°F
  • Thursday, March 5, 7 p.m. – Friday, March 6, 7 a.m.
    • Projected temperature: 28°F
  • Friday, March 6, 7 p.m. – Saturday, March 7, 7 a.m.
    • Projected temperature: 28°F

 I-295 southbound/Al-Jo’s Curve to be Closed & Detoured Along With Route 30, Cooper Ave. to Grove Street

Closure necessary for drainage work and retaining wall construction

The I-295 southbound ramp to Route 42 southbound and I-295 southbound, also known as Al-Jo’s Curve, is scheduled to be closed and detoured as the Direct Connection project advances in Bellmawr, Camden County. This is a continuation of work that began in January.

Beginning at 10 p.m. Monday, March 2 until 5 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, and continuing each night through Thursday, March 5 at the same time, the I-295 southbound ramp to Route 42 southbound and I-295 southbound, also known as Al-Jo’s Curve, is scheduled to be closed and detoured. The right lane on I-295 southbound also will be closed just after Exit 28/Route 168. All motorists traveling on I-295 southbound will be directed to stay left onto Exit 26. The closures are necessary for drainage work and retaining wall construction. The following detour will be in place:

Rabid Skunk Confirmed in Cherry Hill

The Camden County Department of Health and Human Services has been notified by the New Jersey Department of Health that a skunk found in Cherry Hill has tested positive for rabies.

On February 20, two Cherry Hill residents found a skunk having an altercation with their two dogs in their backyard. The residents were able to trap the skunk safely and took it to a wildlife rescue center. The wildlife rescue center arranged for rabies testing at the state Public Health & Environmental Laboratories (PHEL) in Trenton. On February 26, the Camden County Department of Health and Human Services was notified by PHEL that the animal was rabid. There were two potential human exposures.

The wildlife rescue center and the dog owners were notified. The Camden County Department of Health and Human Services received proof of vaccination for both dogs. The dogs will be under confinement and observation for 4 months. The involved humans were recommended to speak to their physicians about receiving post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP).

CPSC Warns Consumers to Immediately Stop Using Gourmia Pressure Cookers

Name of Product: Gourmia Pressure Cookers

Hazard: The pressure cookers pose a risk of serious injury due to burn hazards. 

Consumer Action: CPSC urges consumers to stop using the pressure cookers immediately and dispose of them. Do not sell or give away these hazardous pressure cookers.

Product Safety Warning Date: February 24, 2026

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers to immediately stop using Gourmia Pressure Cookers because they pose a risk of serious injury due to burn hazards. The lid on the pressure cooker can open while it is still pressurized, causing hot contents to spray out, resulting in severe second degree burn injuries to consumers. Most of these pressure cookers were sold at Best Buy.
