Detective Joseph Seals was shot and killed at 12:30 pm in Bayview Cemetery after encountering two subjects in a van that was linked to a homicide in Bayonne, New Jersey.

During the encounter, Detective Seals was shot in the back of the head. The two subjects then fled in the stolen van and eventually barricaded themselves inside of a grocery store on Martin Luther King Drive. They murdered three people inside of the store and then engaged responding officers in a prolonged shootout for several hours in which two officers were wounded. Both subjects were eventually found deceased inside of the store.

Detective Seals had served with the Jersey City Police Department for 13 years and had served in law enforcement for a total of 18 years. He is survived by his wife and five children.

FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS–Police Officer Stephen Carr was shot and killed in an unprovoked attack as he sat in his patrol car in the Fayetteville Police Department\’s rear parking lot at about 9:40 pm.

He was waiting for his partner to return from inside of the police station when a subject approached him and opened fire without warning, killing him. Officers inside of the station heard the shots and immediately responded. They pursued the subject into an alley next to the police station and fatally shot him in an exchange of gunfire.

Officers and paramedics provided aide to Officer Carr, but he succumbed to his wounds.

Officer Carr had served with the Fayetteville Police Department for 2-1/2 years and was assigned to the Bicycle Unit.

HOUSTON TEXAS–Sergeant Christopher Brewster, age 32  was shot and killed while responding to a domestic assault at about 6:00 pm.

A woman had called 911 and reported that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend and that he was armed with two firearms. When officers arrived at the scene both subjects had already left. Sergeant Brewster was checking the area when he saw the couple walking in the 7400 block of Avenue L.

Sergeant Brewster attempted to contact them but was fired upon as he exited his patrol car. Despite being struck in the chest above his vest, he was able to give dispatchers and other officers a description of his wounds and a direction of travel.

The man was arrested moments later by other officers.

Sergeant Brewster was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.

Sergeant Brewster had served with the Houston Police Department for nine years.

OFFICER DOWN: Policeman Billy Fred Clardy Killed During Drug Raid

HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA–Agent Billy Clardy III was shot and killed while participating in a narcotics operation with the HIDTA Gulf Coast Task Force.

The task force was conducting a buy-bust operation at a home on Levert Street, near the intersection of Oakwood Avenue, at 4:00 pm. Agents attempted to take the suspect into custody as the man delivered a large amount of narcotics to the home. The man immediately opened fire, striking Agent Clardy in an area not protected by his vest.

The man then fled on foot but was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit. He was charged with capital murder.

Agent Clardy was a U.S. Army veteran. He had served with the Huntsville Police Department for 14 years and had previously served with the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office and the Fayetteville, Tennessee, Police Department. He is survived by his wife and five children.

Agent Clardy’s father, Police Officer Billy Clardy, Jr., was also killed in the line of duty while serving with the Huntsville Police Department. Officer Clardy, Jr., was killed in a vehicle crash on May 3rd, 1978.

-Master-at-Arms 3rd Class Oscar Temores was killed when his patrol car was intentionally struck by a vehicle that had run the

gate at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

The vehicle entered Fort Story at Gate 8 on Atlantic Avenue by driving the wrong way in the outbound lanes at a high rate of speed at 7:35 pm. Personnel at the gate immediately requested assistance and MA3 Temores began to respond to the scene. The civilian driver of the vehicle intentionally struck MA3 Temores’ patrol car head-on responded to locate the vehicle.

MA3 Temores was transported to Virginia Beach General Hospital where he died a short time later. The subject, who was also injured, was taken into custody. His motive for entering the base is under investigation.

MA3 Temores had served with the U.S. Navy Security Forces for only 10 months. He is survived by his wife and 2-year-old son.

Sheriff John Williams was shot and killed at 8:00 pm while responding to a trespassing and noise complaint call at a convenience store at the intersection of Highway 21 and Highway 97 in Hayneville.

He had responded to the store after an employee of the store had called to report a large gathering of people in the parking lot who would not leave. Sheriff Williams arrived at the scene and was talking with an occupant of a truck when the man shot him.

The man fled in the truck but later returned to the scene and turned himself in. The truck was later determined to have been stolen.

Sheriff Williams had served in law enforcement for over 40 years. He is survived by his wife and children.

Camden County Association of Chiefs of Police has partnered with Policeapp

Would you like to be a police officer? The Camden County Association of Chiefs of Police has partnered with Policeapp to provide regionalized testing for possible available police positions in Camden County over the next 12 months. All participating agencies will have access to the results of the test to improve their application pool for Class I, Class II, Class III, and full time positions (non-civil service for full time positions).  If you know anyone who is interested, please share the below link with them to sign up for

the test.

Unfortunately, the Gloucester Township police Department is a Civil Service Department and will not participate in this program but please continue to follow us as we will advertise for the next Civil Service Test!

The test date will be Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Eastern High School (cafeteria) in the morning hours.

OFFICER DOWN: Detroit Police Officer Rasheen McClain Shot & Killed

Police Officer Rasheen McClain was shot and killed while responding to a domestic violence in which a woman’s boyfriend had broken into her home and threatened the occupants with a firearm.

When responding officers arrived on the scene, they encountered the victims outside. They informed Officer McClain that the man was inside of the home and armed. Officer McClain and other officers began clearing the home to locate the subject. They had cleared the main level and second floor before they began to clear the basement.

As they made their way down the basement stairs the man emerged at the bottom and opened fire with a semi-automatic rifle, striking Officer McClain in the neck and another officer in the leg. The subject was wounded by additional officers after running outside of the home. He was taken into custody one block away as he attempted to flee on foot.

Officer McClain had served with the Detroit Police Department for 16 years and was assigned to the 12th Precinct.

Miguel Angel Villegas Wanted for Shooting at Tuckerton Cop Arrested in NY

TUCKERTON NJ (Nov. 22, 2019)—Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that Miguel Angel Villegas, 29,  (photo) of New Haven, Connecticut was taken in to custody at Penn Station in New York, NY shortly after 8pm this evening by the United States Marshals Service and the New York City Police Department. “A

massive manhunt began earlier today after Villegas exchanged gunfire with a Tuckerton Borough Police Officer earlier this mo

rning in Tuckerton,” Prosecutor Billhimer said. Villegas was taken into custody this evening without incident.

At approximately 10:22 a.m. this morning, a Tuckerton Borough Police Officer exchanged gunfire with Villegas after the vehicle he was a passenger in fled a lawful motor vehicle stop near the intersection of Route 9 and North Green Street and caused a subsequent collision with another vehicle. The Officer was not injured in the exchange of gunfire. Villegas fled on foot and a massive manhunt ensued ending in New York City this evening.

“Villegas will be charged with Attempted Murder, Kidnapping, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and Possession of a Handgun for an Unlawful Purpose,” Prosecutor Billhimer stated. “It is my understanding that Villegas is wanted out of Connecticut. We will be seeking extradition from New York to bring him back here to Ocean County to face these charges,” Prosecutor Billhimer added.

“I’d like to thank the collaborative efforts of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, United States Marshals Service, New York City Police Department, Tuckerton Borough Police Department, Little Egg Harbor Police Department, New Jersey State Police, New Jersey State Police Regional Operations Intelligence Center, New Jersey State Police Aviation Unit, New Jersey Transit Police, Ocean County Regional SWAT, Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, Ocean County Sheriff’s Office K-9, New Haven Police (Connecticut), Port Authority Police, Tuckerton Fire Department and Tuckerton Public Works Department. This was truly a team effort. The public can rest easy tonight knowing the men & women of law enforcement worked through the day into tonight to bring Villegas into custody peacefully,” Prosecutor Billhimer added.

“Even though Villegas is in custody, this remain an ongoing investigation. More details will be released as they become available,” Prosecutor Billhimer concluded.
