Camden County Office of Emergency Management issues “Code Blue”

The Camden County Office of Emergency Management declared that Camden County will be under a Code Blue Advisory from for the following dates and times due to projected dangerously low temperatures by the National Weather Service:

Sunday, February 1, 7:00 a.m. – Wednesday, February 4, 7:00 a.m.

• Projected temperature: Below freezing throughout the timeframe

Code Blue Advisories are declared when the National Weather Service predicts that the temperature is 32 degrees Fahrenheit or lower, or the wind chill temperature will be zero degrees Fahrenheit or lower for a period of two hours or more.

“As temperatures fall to dangerously low levels, it is critical that our residents have access to a safe place to stay warm,” said Commissioner Jonathan Young, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Safety. “We urge everyone to check in on vulnerable neighbors, ensure heating systems are working properly, and bring pets indoors.”

Evening with Former White House Butler

Merchantville Historical Society

The Merchantville Historical Society invites the public to an evening with Alan DeValerio, former White House butler, on TuesdayFebruary10th, at 6:30 PM at the Merchantville Community Center. DeValerio will share firsthand stories from his service during three presidential administrations, offering a rare look inside White House functions, family quarters, and daily life behind the scenes. A display of White House artifacts from his personal collection will be featured, and his book will be available for purchase and signing following the program. Trying to beat the winter blues? Join us for a class on bulb forcing and learn the techniques to bring a little spring happiness into your home. Adult participants will make small bulb garden to take home to watch grow and bloom. All supplies and bulbs will be provided, class size is 30 people and cost is $25 per person. Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Adds New Assistant Prosecutor

Camden, NJ – Welcome to the team! The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office has hired a new assistant prosecutor, announced Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay.

On Friday, January 30, 2026, Assistant Prosecutor Raiza Rosa was sworn in by the Honorable Kathleen Delaney, J.S.C., before Prosecutor MacAulay, First Assistant Prosecutor Timothy Chatten, Deputy First Assistant Prosecutor Tracy Cogan, Deputy First Assistant Prosecutor Kelly Testa, and Deputy Chief of Detectives Randall MacNair.

Assistant Prosecutor Rosa previously clerked for the Honorable Donna Stroud of the North Carolina Court of Appeals in 2023.  After her clerkship, she worked for the Hutchens Law Firm in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and later for the Juvenile Criminal Law Clinic in Durham, North Carolina.  Assistant Prosecutor Rosa is a graduate of the North Carolina Central University School of Law.  

Camden County Roadwork Projects

Several roadway projects will be underway across Camden County during the week of February 2 to February 6. 

“Motorists should plan ahead to take alternate routes and give themselves plenty of time to get to their destinations,” said Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works. “Also, remember that when you’re traveling through a construction area, please slow down and stay alert for crew members and debris.”

Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli Jr. Issued the Following Statement

“It’s been one year since Trump has taken office and he has used his time in office to the sow the seeds of discontent and division throughout this country and one of his main tools for that has been Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Right now, as Gov. Sherrill has stated, Trump is using ICE as his own personal militia, and they have been terrorizing communities throughout the nation including here in Camden County. These agents have showed up in places like Camden City, Haddon Township, and Lindenwold Borough, and have indiscriminately worked to undermine the rule of law while simultaneously stopping individuals without cause and arbitrarily arresting them. We have watched videos of ICE officers with masks up, no body-worn cameras, wearing tactical gear roaming the streets in unmarked vehicles in search of their targets- our residents. This is why I am joining with our Congressman, Donald Norcross, and calling for the impeachment of the Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem.
