WinterFest Ice Skating returns to Cooper River Park

The Camden County Board of Commissioners is excited to announce the opening of the WinterFest Ice Skating Rink at Cooper River Park for the 2025-2026 season.

WinterFest officially opens on Friday, Nov. 28, and will be open Thursday through Sunday until Feb. 22, 2025.

“Winterfest has become a beloved holiday tradition in Camden County, and we are thrilled to celebrate its 12th year with our community,” said Commissioner Jeffrey Nash, liaison to the Parks Department. “I invite residents and visitors alike to take part in this festive opportunity for outdoor fun at Cooper River Park, which has become premier attraction for visitors throughout the state.”

Philadelphia Mummers Parade Announces Details for 125th Anniversary

Philadelphia, PA – Get ready to strut down Broad Street! Today, Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia was once again named the Title Sponsor for the legendary MUMMERS PARADE, set for Thursday, January 1, 2026. Kicking off a lineup of historic city-wide celebrations set for the coming year, the 2026 Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia Mummers Parade will celebrate the 125th anniversary of its legendary strut down Broad Street with performances from the Fancy, Wench, Comic, and String Band divisions, as well as Mummers personalities and sponsors. The 2026 Philadelphia Mummers Parade begins at City Hall, starting at 9:00am and will continue South to Washington Avenue until 7:00pm.

Salvation Army and Food Bank of South Jersey hold annual turkey donation event

 Today at 11 a.m. at Kroc Center, 1865 Harrison Ave., Camden, Commissioner Jennifer Fleisher will join the Salvation Army Kroc Center and the Food Bank of South Jersey to distribute turkeys and food boxes to local families for their annual Thanksgiving drive-thru event.

“As the cost of living continues to rise, the holidays can be an especially challenging time for families,” said Commissioner Jennifer Fleisher. “The Board of Commissioners is grateful for the work that the Salvation Army and the Food Bank of South Jersey do to ensure families in our community are able to share in the spirit of the holidays.”

NJ BLOOD SERVICES CALLS FOR BLOOD DONORS AHEAD OF THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY

NEW JERSEY — New Jersey Blood Services (NJBS) is calling on community members to donate blood ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, a period when donations traditionally drop and hospital demand remains high. All who come to donate at any NJBS donor center or blood drive between Sunday, November 23rd and Sunday, November 30th will receive a festive long-sleeved t-shirt as a thank-you for helping patients in need. The holiday season is historically challenging for the blood supply, as school breaks, travel, and seasonal illness often keep regular donors from giving. Last year, NJBS saw nearly a 36% drop in blood donations during the week of Thanksgiving alone.

Commissioners to Host Homeless Services and Resource Fair

Today, at 10 a.m., at the Cathedral Kitchen, 1514 Federal Street, Camden, the Board of Commissioners will be hosting a homeless services and resource fair to provide free necessary services to those in need. This fair will feature on–site showers and haircuts, breakfast and lunch, and access to several organizations to help individuals with employment, housing, legal support, and mental health services.

“Our homelessness resource fairs help to deliver critical wraparound services directly to people who are experiencing homelessness,” said Commissioner Virginia Betteridge, liaison to the Department of Health and Human Services. “This is just one step in towards our goal of ending homelessness in Camden County once and for all.”

WinterFest Ice Skating Season at Cooper River

Get your skates and glide into WinterFest’s Ice Skating at Cooper River Park, presented by the Camden County Board of Commissioners! Opening FridayNovember28th through February23rd at Cooper River Park, near the corner of Cuthbert Blvd. and Park Avenue. This fun-filled event will have hot cocoa, beautiful decorations, and all the skating you can handle. Bring your friends and family to feel the thrill of the ice! Please note, Camden County’s WinterFest is an official Toys for Tots drop off location.
