SUPER BOWL TO ATTRACT $400 MILLION IN WAGERS, PLAYUSA.COM ANALYSTS PREDICT

Thirteen states representing a population of 70 million people will offer some form of legal sports betting for NFL’s showcase game

(LAS VEGAS) — Legal online and retail sportsbooks across the country will take in $400 million in total bets for Super Bowl LIV, analysts for

PlayUSA.com

project. Even if less money comes in, the matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City

Chiefs, set for Sunday, Feb. 2, will almost certainly bring in more money via legal sportsbooks than ever before.

“With the proliferation of legal sports betting across the U.S., there is no doubt that this will be a record year for legal bets on the Super Bowl,” said Dustin Gouker, lead analyst for

PlayUSA.com

. “An interesting matchup that is nearly a pick ’em will help spur action, too. As a result, records in states such as Nevada and New Jersey, where both online and retail sports betting were legal for last year’s game, are also in jeopardy.

The Super Bowl is easily the most bet-on sporting event in the U.S., drawing an estimated $6 billion in legal and illegal bets in 2019, according to estimates from the American Gaming Association. That number will reach almost $7 billion in 2020, the AGA estimates.

For this year’s game, consider:

Thirteen states — Nevada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Iowa, Rhode Island, West Virginia, Oregon, Arkansas, Delaware, Mississippi, New Mexico, and New York — representing a combined population of 70 million, will offer a means to place a legal bet on this year’s Super Bowl.

Eight of those states — Nevada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Iowa, Rhode Island, West Virginia, Oregon — offer both online and retail sports betting.

Seven states, representing a combined population of 30 million, accepted legal bets for last year’s game between the New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams. In addition, some states had yet to launch online sportsbooks, leaving retail sportsbooks as the only vehicle to place a bet in states such as Pennsylvania.

The country’s two largest sports betting markets, Nevada and New Jersey, combined to generate more than $180 million in bets for the 2019 game.

New Jersey sportsbooks, which offered legal wagering on the Super Bowl for the first time in 2019, attracted $34.9 million in bets but lost $4.6 million.

Nevada’s $145.9 million handle was the state’s second-best all-time, but down from the record $158.6 million in 2018.

“Not only has the number of legal sports jurisdictions doubled from last year’s game, states such as New Jersey and Pennsylvania have boomed,” Gouker said. “That all adds up to a historic weekend ahead for sports betting.”

Kansas City is currently a consensus 1.5-point favorite over the 49ers. And with the Chiefs’ top-ranked passing attack matched up against the 49ers’ second-ranked pass defense, the over/under is now set at 54 points.

Prop bets should once again bring added attention from bettors to the game. Books will offer odds on aspects of the game that range from what player will score the first touchdown to the color of the Gatorade dumped on the winning coach.

“Online and mobile sportsbooks are a key tool in driving in-game and prop betting, giving states with a robust digital presence a significant advantage,” Gouker said. “In New Jersey, nearly 88% of all bets were made online in December. And that allows operators to attract bettors with prop bets and keep them engaged with in-game betting.”

H1 – Is PayPal cracking down on online casino players?

Gloucestercitynews.net (January 28, 2020)–PayPal has been a cornerstone payment method for online casino players for many years now. From its beginnings, in the early 2000s, this service has processed billions of online transactions. Of these, using the

PayPal payment method for online casinos

deposits and withdrawals account for a fair chunk.

source unsplash.com

But now as we enter a new decade it seems that PayPal is following the recent trends of other payments providers with a tightening of its rules and regulations.

What could be the possible effects of this for online casino players and what will the future shape up to be? We’ll attempt to answer these questions and more below.

H2 – German online casino payment crackdown

The early warning signs that PayPal was about to make a move towards more stringent regulations for casino players started to show in 2019. Around halfway through the year PayPal announced plans to stop supporting payments to and from online casinos in Germany from October 21, 2019.

This came after a warning was issued in June 2019 by the Lower Saxony state in Germany to an unnamed international payment processor. The warning was concerned with the payment provider being used to fund illegal online casino transactions in that region.

PayPal’s terms of service in Germany were quickly updated following the warning to say that they would not process payments for “offers that are not legal in your respective whereabouts, including some online gambling offers.”

This move reflects a wider game change regarding casino licencing in Germany. At the current moment, only the state of Schleswig-Holstein is able to offer legal gambling licences but all this is set to change.

Countrywide gambling licences will be issued in early 2020 but only on very strictly limited terms for sports betting. Given this, the future of the online casino industry in Germany looks very uncertain indeed.

H2 – Will there be a worldwide PayPal casino crackdown?

The above case from Germany is for a very specific region and payment provider but it does highlight a wider trend. For many years online casinos have been viewed by some as being the ‘wild west’ of the internet. The wider industry is making drastic moves to smarten up their image and operations which in turn affects payment providers.

Now that states, governments and even trading blocks seek to enforce ever tighter rules and regulations for the gambling industry, all involved must be seen to comply. In the case of PayPal, their actions in Germany show us that they are willing and able to play by the rules when they need to.

As a business with a reputation to maintain across continents, PayPal cannot afford to be seen to be connected with any illegal activities or wrongdoing. If doing so means pulling out of one of Europe’s big casino markets then it looks as though they will do it without fear.

H2 – How does this affect casino players?

From the point of view of casino players, it means that they might have less choice of which payment provider to use in the future. Millions of casino fans around the world rely on PayPal to process their withdrawals and deposits. Not having their service as a payments option at any casino would be a major blow.

That said, let’s not forget that tighter rules and regulations should be working in favour of online casino players. If it forces PayPal and other payments providers to up their game then it is a good thing. In turn, this creates a safer and more secure playing environment which can be seen as a positive.

Democrats Holding Event in Cape May to Counter Trump Rally in Wildwood

\”This Will Be Our Moment to Show Trump and Van Drew that Democrats Stand Together and are Unified Against

Hate, Corruption, and the Status Quo.\”…

– Brigid Callahan Harrison, Democratic candidate for Congress

[January 27, 2020 – Longport, New Jersey] — Brigid Callahan Harrison, Democratic candidate for Congress in New Jersey\’s second congressional district, will join together on Tuesday, January 28, with Democratic leaders, more than three dozen grassroots organizations from throughout the region, and her fellow Democratic

candidates running for Congress at the Cape May County Indivisible\’s peaceful protest rally, which will run counter to the Trump and Van Drew political rally scheduled for later in the evening.

\”Based on all we have seen these last few weeks from Donald Trump and his pawn Jeff Van Drew, I think it\’s fair to say that South Jersey is pumped to share their voice,\” stated Harrison. \”I commend the organizers of Cape May County Indivisible for organizing this event, asking each Democratic candidate to attend, and bringing our many great communities together.  While the 2nd district brings many different voices to the political landscape, one thing we have shown time and time again is our ability to work together, unify, and fight for what is right.  Trump rallies have come to symbolize blame, hate, racism, misogyny and divisiveness and I bet we will see much of the same show during his visit to South Jersey.  Thanks to

Cape May

County Indivisible, there will be another story to tell

on Tuesday night – one

of unity and solidarity.  South Jersey\’s unity against Trump, Van Drew, and all they have come to stand for.

Trump\’s visit to the area comes on the heels of Harrison\’s call on Monday for Van Drew to resign from Congress,  After news broke that President Trump had directly told his National Security Advisor John Bolton of his plans to freeze millions in security assistance to the country of Ukraine until officials helped with investigations against the Biden, Harrison stated, \”It is clear this issue has now evolved to the point that Van Drew helped conspire to help Trump get away with a crime.  I was the first to publicly suggest that Van Drew deserved a primary challenge for his actions back in November, and now it is clear, with this breaking and developing information, it is time for him to step aside and resign.\”

Wildwood Boardwalk Taken Over by Trump Backers

City Confidential

WILDWOOD – She never made it here from Philly.

If she did, she confessed, it was a long time ago, a vague memory, and now, as she came up against the boardwalk, her face very nearly registered bug-eyed disbelief at the sight of the sea.

There’s an

ocean

here.

She didn’t say it.

The body language in the knife-sawing cold off the beach told the story.

She was in Wildwood for one reason.

“Trump,” the non-swimming fiercely winterized Trumpite told InsiderNJ, as she folded into the maw of bulky red phalanxes in the vicinity of the convention center.

A helicopter circled.

A man, ramrod in blue with the sea behind him, stood at the entranceway to the Wildwoods with a sign urging all able-bodied Trump backers to register to serve in the military.

No one argued.

All up and down the boardwalk vendors behind tables laid out with wares urged the frigid Trump troops to further arm themselves for the developing circus.

Pleasantville Man Pleads Guilty to Shooting 15-Year-Old Naimah Bell

MAYS LANDING- An 18 year-old Pleasantville man pleaded guilty on Thursday in the fatal July shooting of Naimah Bell, 15, also of Pleasantville, First Assistant Prosecutor Cary Shill announced.

Nahquil Lovest pleaded guilty to a charge of first degree Aggravated Manslaughter and must serve 10 years in New Jersey state prison subject to the No Early Release Act (NERA), which mandates that the defendant must serve 85% of the sentence.

“The reality is that there is no amount of time the defendant can serve that will bring Na’imah back to life.  The defendant’s reckless handling of a firearm robbed Na’imah and her family of all of her potential.  Now, two lives have been lost, which leaves us all wondering about who they could have developed into,” said Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner.

In October, Lovest was indicted on the following charges: Aggravated Manslaughter, second degree unlawful Possession of a Weapon, second degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, fourth degree Aggravated Assault Pointing a Weapon, in the fatal shooting of 15 year-old Naimah Bell of Pleasantville.

Lovest was arrested on Friday, July 26, 2019, in connection to the murder of Bell was shot and killed inside the address 102 S. Massachusetts Ave., Atlantic City, shortly after 4:00 a.m., on July 25, 2019. An initial autopsy was conducted and determined that the pending cause of death to be a gunshot wound to the head and the pending manner of death as a homicide.

The arrest was the result of a cooperative investigation between the Atlantic City Police Department, Pleasantville Police Department and Atlantic County Major Crimes Unit.

Lovest was arrested without incident by members of the Atlantic City Police Department Violent Crime Unit and Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, with the assistance of the Atlantic County SWAT team. He is lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility, awaiting sentencing. Assistant Prosecutor Laura Heisman represents the state in this matter.

Gustafson Thrilled To Learn Pelosi Is Coming To Support Norcross

Pelosi visit is a near perfect illustration of the difference between Norcross and Gustafson

COLLINGSWOOD – Claire Gustafson, Republican candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s first congressional district, said she was “thrilled” to learn Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi is coming to Camden County to support Congressman Donald Norcross next month.

“Nancy Pelosi coming to Camden County to support Donald Norcross is a near perfect illustration of the differences I have with Congressman Norcross,” Claire Gustafson said. “Pelosi and Norcross support sanctuary states, abortion on demand, a sham impeachment and continually attack the Second Amendment. In Congress I’ll say no to sanctuary states, no to abortion as a form of birth control, no to this impeachment nonsense and no to the assault on our Second Amendment.”

“I found it almost laughable that in

one report

it was said that, ‘Congressman Norcross is a key member of Speaker Pelosi’s leadership team and is widely recognized for his leadership on job creation.’” Gustafson added, “It was Norcross who, in February 2014 when he first ran for Congress,

proudly proclaimed

he ‘led the charge on getting the Economic Opportunity Act passed into law’ and promised it was ‘a game-changing law that will help create thousands of jobs in our region.’”

Gustafson asked, “If Congressman Norcross is such a leader on job creation where are the thousands of jobs he promised nearly six years ago?”

“Perhaps Pelosi or Norcross will explain why he now downplays his role in getting the Economic Opportunity Act passed.” Gustafson said, “I’ll be looking forward to the Congresswoman’s visit and hope we finally learn where the thousands of jobs Mr. Norcross promised are.”

Which countries allow online gambling casino

Gloucestercitynews.net (January 27, 2020)–If your country allows gambling in casinos, then lucky for you since you have a way of making money at the comfort of your home. Some countries do not allow online gambling, and therefore, if you are caught playing casino games in such countries, you will be charged according to the law. Therefore, before you embark on your online gambling, it is necessary to find out whether the country in which the casino is based allows gambling. In this article, I have combined a list of countries where online gambling is legal.

Why a casino doesn\’t legal in some countries

Regardless of whether gambling is legal or illegal in certain nations, there will always be gamblers. The main reason as to why some governments fail to legalize gambling is to protect the citizens from vice and making poor decisions. You must have heard of people who lost everything that they owned in gambling or some who have become addicts. Now, these are some of the things that governments try to protect by making casinos illegal. Professionals from

online casino real money

will help you identify some of the precautions that you should take to make a big win from gambling.

Canada

Canada has legalized gambling in some regions, while in others, it is illegal. Therefore, gambling regulations differ across the ten provinces. Each province has the mandate to regulate gambling activities, and hence, you need to familiarize yourself with the gambling rules in your province. The online casinos ought to follow the regulations set out by the governing province.

Australia and New Zealand

The Australian and New Zealand law have allowed their citizens to participate in online gambling activities. All that is required is for the casino operators to have gambling licenses, and they will be free to run their businesses in any part of the nation. However, the only form of gambling allowed in Australia is sports betting, auto-racing betting, and online lottery. In New Zealand, gambling is only legal if authorized by the Gambling Act 2003.

USA

The USA makes 70% of the players base on online gambling. The US federal law has legalized gambling. However, the law ensures to have certain restrictions when it comes to online and interstate gambling. This means that some gambling activities might be considered legal in one state, yet they are illegal in another state. Every state has the mandate to regulate gambling activities within its borders. Therefore, you need to play in a state where online gambling is legal.

South countries

Among the countries that allow online gambling in South America is Argentina. The country boasts some of the largest casinos across the world. There are over 80 casinos in Argentina, as well as approximately 12000 slots. The government regulations in Chile and Venezuela have legalized gambling. Brazil is among the southern countries that do not allow casino betting.

United Kingdom

The UK stands to be the nation with the best gambling rules. It allows gambling for any individual as long as they are above 18 years. Unlike other nations, the country does not charge any taxes on the amounts won from gambling. Therefore, this makes it a favorable place for gambling in online casinos. Their online gambling regulations ensure that the players have a fair and safe gambling environment.

The grey areas of online gambling

Online gambling falls into the grey area because it is difficult to regulate its operations in countries where gambling has been legalized. For instance, most of the players do it from home hence making it difficult to convict them. Also, the servers are located in countries that have legalized gambling.

In turn, their websites run in different parts of the world. People take casino licenses and end up running their activities in areas where gambling is restricted.

Other European countries

Following the boom of the gambling business, most of the European countries have legalized gambling. Hence, as long as you are in such countries, you can pop up in any legal casinos and play with real money. They believe that gambling helps in the growth of the economy. Some of those countries include Hungry, Malta, Portugal, Norway, Spain, France, Germany, Netherland, Gibraltar, Italy, Poland, Denmark, Russia, Belgium, and Switzerland.

Asia

The gambling laws in Asia allows business people to run gambling platforms such as online casinos. Countries such as Kazakhstan, Philippines, and Japan have fully legalized gambling. Besides, countries such as Thailand, China, Macao, and Singapore partly allow people to gamble. In India, gambling is only allowed in the states of Goa and Sikkim. As well, some Indian states have legalized scratch card games.

Now that you have known where gambling is allowed, you do not have to fear being convicted for gambling. All you have to do is search for licensed casinos in such countries, and you will be free to gamble on your favorite games. Such casinos are a guarantee that you can play with real money and have a timely payment of your winnings.
