REMOVE ALL PARKED VEHICLES and/ or TRAILERS from the roadways (if possible) so GT Public Works can plow our streets.

 Stay off the roadways during and shortly after the snow stops to allow plow and salt trucks to clear the roadways 

✅

 If you must drive to work, give yourself extra time to travel safely. Completely clear off ALL the snow from your vehicle, including the roof.

✅

 If you live near a fire hydrant, please remove the snow from the front, back and sides of it to allow the fire department to quickly locate them.

GTPD Arrests Youth in Vehicle Burglary Attempt

On Saturday, February 14, 2026 at approximately 12:33 AM, Gloucester Township Police Department (GTPD) were dispatched to the area of Whitall Drive in the Sicklerville section of Gloucester Township for the report of a someone attempting to burglarize the caller’s vehicle.  As officers responded to the area, it was reported the person had fled the area and a description was obtained. An alert motorist flagged down an officer and reported that a person fitting the description was now observed running into the nearby Terrestria Development. Officers quickly located the person, later identified as a 16-year-old juvenile, fleeing on foot while ignoring numerous officer commands to stop. After a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was taken into custody by officers and was found to be in possession of burglar tools. The suspect was transported to the GTPD Headquarters and was charged on a Juvenile Complaint and released pending court with the following charges:  Criminal Attempt Burglary – 3rd Degree Crime, Resisting Arrest by Flight – 4th Degree Crime, Possession of Burglar Tools – a Disorderly Persons Offense and Criminal Mischief – a Disorderly Persons Offense. 

Due to proactive operations across Gloucester Township, this allowed officers to flood the area of the crime almost immediately, thus assisting with the successful apprehension of the suspect.  One officer sustained a minor injury during the foot pursuit.  Chief Anthony Minosse said, “this case is a clear example on the importance of a strong partnership between the GTPD and our residents working together to help keep our community safe.” The prompt reporting of suspicious activity and potential criminal conduct allows police officers to respond quickly to address community concerns.  The GTPD urges residents to remain alert to unusual behavior, LOCK YOUR VEHICLES, remove key fobs, and pick up your phone to immediately report any suspicious activity.

16-year-old male suspect was charged with Criminal Attempt Burglary – 3rd Degree Crime, Resisting Arrest by Flight – 4th Degree Crime, Possession of Burglar Tools – a Disorderly Persons Offense and Criminal Mischief – a Disorderly Persons Offense.

FCA Issues “Do Not Drive” Warning for All Vehicles with Unrepaired Takata Airbag Recalls

FCA US has issued a “do not drive” warning for all remaining Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram vehicles with open and unrepaired Takata air bag recalls. If you have one of these vehicles, do not drive it until the repair is completed and the defective air bag is replaced. Recalls are free at the manufacturer’s dealership.

The following makes and models with open Takata recalls should not be driven until remedied:

Woolwich Man Found Guilty of Murder in 2021 Shooting of His Stepfather

Woodbury, NJ – A jury found Christian Smith, 27, of Woolwich, guilty of first-degree murder and second-degree possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose Tuesday following a two-week trial before the Honorable William Ziegler, J.S.C. According to documents filed in this case and the evidence presented at trial: On Oct. 9, 2021, Smith and his stepfather Dennis McKenzie, Jr., were arguing in their home over offensive comments Smith made about the sexuality of McKenzie’s daughter and her friend.

Missing Endangered Adult Female Mary A. Jones 

On October 28, 2025, at approximately 9:57 a.m., Mary A. Jones, age 69, was reported missing. Ms. Jones was last heard from by family members on October 3, 2025.

Ms. Jones is described as a Black female, approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Her clothing at the time of her disappearance is unknown.

The investigation has determined that Ms. Jones traveled internationally to Guyana and was expected to return home during the week of January 12, 2026. She did not return as scheduled, and her current whereabouts remain unknown.

The Gloucester Township Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance. Anyone with information regarding Ms. Jones’ location is urged to contact 9-1-1, the Gloucester Township Police Department at 856-228-4500, or the GTPD Anonymous Crime Tip Line at 856-842-5560. Apartment Leasing Office Destroyed In Overnight Fire in Gloucester Township

On Saturday, January 10, 2026 at approximately 2:26 am Officers from the Gloucester Township Police Department were dispatched to the Lakeview Apartments, Leasing / Management Office, to investigate a combination fire alarm and burglar alarm activation.

Arriving Firefighters from Chews Landing observed heavy fire conditions from the unoccupied apartment complex leasing office and requested additional fire suppression assets, initiating a 2nd Alarm. Officers from the GTPD initiated road closures on Lakeviews Drive and Pine Run to support fire suppression efforts. A unified command post was established with Police, Fire, EMS and Camden County Communications. Along with Chews Landing, the following FD’s also assisted: Blackwood, Blenheim, Glendora, Erial, Magnolia, Bellmawr, Runnemede, Lindenwold, Somerdale and Cherry Hill.
