It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Anna Green (Gloucester City, New Jersey), who passed away at the age of 78, on January 6, 2020.

She was loved and cherished by many people including : her husband Walter E. Green; her son David E. Green; and her siblings, Julio DiCresenzo (Joan), Mary Weigner, Frances Shone, Emma Malin (Elwood) and JoAnne Piontkowski (Robert). She was also cherished by nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on January 13, 2020. Interment at the New St. Mary\’s Cemetery (515 W Browning Rd, Bellmawr, NJ).

Robert W. J. Kain, 92, WW II Navy Veteran, KofC Council 674, GCHS Alum

Robert W.J. Kain (Bob/Beans) of Deptford, NJ died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on January 9, 2020. Age 92. Beloved husband of Ruth (nee Brill). Loving father of Maureen Underwood (Harry) of W. Deptford, Theresa Kain-Henry (Tom) of W. Deptford, Vincent Kain (Beth) of Glassboro, Julie McHenry (Pat) of Gloucester, Ronnie Kain-Beckett (Pat) of Deptford, Edward Kain (Cathy) of Somerdale, Marie Poloney (Adam) of Pitman and the late Robert J. Kain. Robert was blessed with fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Robert was a 1945 graduate of Gloucester Catholic H.S. where he was captain of the basketball team. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and a 1952 graduate and “Golden Hawk” of St. Joseph’s University. He was an Honorary Life member of Gloucester City Knights of Columbus Council #674. Robert worked at Koppens Beer Distributor for 25 years as an accountant and general manager before starting his own business – RJ Kain Fundraising. Robert loved his business and continued working well into his 90’s.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing Wednesday, January 15, 10am to 11:45am at St. Mary’s Church, 426 Monmouth St. Gloucester City, NJ 08030. Mass of Christian Burial 12pm at the church. Interment private.

Elaine Dean age 51 years of Gloucester City, NJ passed away suddenly on January 2, 2020.

Elaine is survived by her mother, Janet Dean of Voorhees, her sister, Laura Gates of Port Orange, FL, her brothers, John Whittaker of Port Orange, FL and

Thomas Dean of South Carolina. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Marquise Dean, Jasmine Dean and Destiny Berry.

Her church was a very important part of her life. She volunteered whenever she could to help others. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 3:00 pm the First Baptist Church of Gloucester City, 400 Monmouth St., Gloucester City, NJ. Cremation will be held privately. Michael A. Gleeson of Gloucester City, New Jersey passed away on January 4, 2020.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Mary Jane (Nee Lannon) and Chester Gleeson; his brothers, Jason Gleeson and David Armstrong; and his grandparents, Charles Gleeson and Bertha. He is survived by : his step-father David Armstrong; his grandparents, Betty Gleeson and Raymond Lannon; his significant other Amy; and and also Ally Marie Slover. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, friends.

Funeral services were under the direction of the McGuinness Funeral Home (34 Hunter St, Woodbury, NJ). A mass of christian burial was held on Monday, January 13 at the Holy Angels Parish 64 Cooper St, Woodbury, NJ.

Bernadette “Bernie” Mary Monahan of Runnemede

Bernadette “Bernie” Mary Monahan (nee Haug), passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 11, 2020. Longtime resident of Runnemede. Age 86.

Beloved wife for 64 years of the late Harold. Devoted mother of Dave (Lisa) and Robbie (Denise). Loving grandmother of David, Tyler and Gabrielle Monahan. She was the youngest of five siblings: Betty Coyle, Lori Scott, the late Catherine Coyle and Christian Haug. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Monahan was employed as a Licensing Agent by the New Jersey Racing Commission for 24 plus years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening and baking.

There will be a visitation from 11:30am to 12:30pm on Thursday morning at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE. Funeral Mass 1pm at Holy Child Parish, St. Teresa’s RC Church, 13 E. Evesham Road Runnemede. Interment private at the request of the family, Locustwood Cemetery, Cherry Hill.

Michelle T. McDevitt, of Bellmawr, age 43

Michelle T. McDevitt, on January 10, 2020, of Bellmawr. Age 43. Beloved daughter of Edward and Marilyn. Loving sister of Melissa Rice (Kirby).

Dear aunt of Kirby and Keagan. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Michelle was a Lead Screener for TSA. She was a Sr. Probation Officer for the Child Support Division for the State of NJ. Michelle graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from York College of Pennsylvania.

She was an avid Philadelphia sports fan. Michelle loved to go to Cape May and was and animal lover. She loved spending time with her family, especially her two nephews.

There will be a viewing from 7 to 9pm on Wednesday evening and 8:15 to 9:15am on Thursday morning at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.  Funeral Mass 10am at St. Joachim Parish, Annunciation BVM Church, 601 W. Browning Road Bellmawr. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill.

Cherry Hill – Surrounded, cared and loved by her devoted family, (nee Lomanno) Age 95 on January 2, 2020. Loving wife of 54 years to the late Joseph Fulginiti. Cherished mother of Anthony (Deborah) Fulginiti, Linda (James) Elias, Diane (Pete) Bellerjeau and Marion (Chuck) Billingham. Beloved grandmother of Carolyn Fulginiti, Joseph Fulginiti, Lynn Elias, Joanna (Dan) Quaintance, Jamie Laspata, Chuckie (Jessica) Billingham, Michael Billingham (girlfriend Jennifer). Marion was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. She was a 1941 graduate of South Philadelphia High School.

Marion was a sales clerk for Lit Brothers, Klein’s and John Wanamaker’s. She was a member of the Cherry Hill Maturity Club. Marion was a former devoted parishioner of Saint Peter’s R.C. Church in Merchantville. She loved her family most of all. Her life was dedicated to her family. Marion also enjoyed the casino, shopping, cooking and baking.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Marion’s Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 10 am in Saint Peter’s R.C. Church: 43 West Maple Avenue, Merchantville, NJ 08109. Grace Mary Schiavone (nee Sorace) of Aiken, SC, formerly of Bellmawr NJ, age 91

Grace Mary Schiavone (nee Sorace), born in Philadelphia, PA on August 24, 1929, passed away January 8, 2020. Currently an Aiken (South Carolina) resident and formerly of Bellmawr, NJ.

She was predeceased by Parents Isadore and Mary Sorace, Brothers Charles and Benjamin Sorace, Sister Frances Gagliardi, Husband and Father of her Children, Albert Charles Schiavo, second Husband Peter Schiavone and Son Albert Schiavo.

She is survived by her 6 Children – Daughter Janet DePrince (Frank), Son Robert Schiavo (Chris), Daughter Marie McFadden (Michael), Daughters Eleanor Togneri and Florence Schiavo, Son Anthony Schiavo, Grandsons Albert Schiavo and Evan Andrews, brother Salvatore Sorace, many Nieces and Nephews and Sister In Heart Gloria Spalinski.

As a young girl, Grace was a ballerina with LaScala Opera Company in Philadelphia for several years. She was their youngest dancer at that time.

Grace had a passion for life and her favorite hobbies were sewing, crocheting, creating beaded bracelets, cooking, baking and playing Bingo. She volunteered for the Aiken Chapter of The Lydia’s Project. She had special stories about her appear in the Aiken Standard and Bella Magazine for two businesses she started at ages 89 and 90 – “Tutu Cute Totes” and “Gracelets”.

A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Grace on Saturday, January 11 at George Funeral Home, 211 Park Avenue SW, Aiken. Visitation will begin at 10am and a service at 11am, followed by a luncheon at the same location. All are welcome to attend to celebrate the life of Grace!
