When I left it took almost two years to get Social Security Disability, during which time I spent $12,500 on medical bills and which, five years later, I am still paying off a little at a time.

On Social Security I get $1,500 plus a month (which I paid into for 40 years), Medicare costs me $94/month, and Part D (Rx) costs an additional $96 per month. I have to pay 20 percent of my medical bills. My Rx co-pay varies by prescription, but is from $10-$45, for an average of $120 per month.

Some Rx’s are not covered at all. By November 1, I have exhausted my Rx coverage and I have to pay in full because I am in what is called a \”doughnut hole.\”

You get benefits for life, so you do not have to rely on Medicare. Some of you get reimbursed the $94 which comes out of your pension. I am angry, and everyone else on Social Security should be angry. Do not look to me for another cent.

Anita was born in Philadelphia and was a graduate of West Catholic High School class of 1956. For a good many years she worked at Jim’s Pizzeria, Broadway and Mercer Street, Gloucester City which was owned by her parents and later by her brother Vincent.

D\’Ambra is arguably one of the most decorated SJU student-athletes to be named a head coach on Hawk Hill. He returns to Saint Joseph\’s after a successful coaching and playing career with the Philadelphia Kixx of the MISL (Major Indoor Soccer League). He played 16 seasons in the MISL, the last 14 with the Kixx. In 2002, he assumed duties as the head coach of the Kixx, and has served as vice president of soccer operations/head coach since then, while also continuing his playing career.

D\’Ambra helped the Kixx to two MISL championships, as a player in 2002 and as the player/coach in 2007. He was a four-time All-Star and is the Kixx\’ all-time leading scorer, amassing 388 goals and 905 points. In eight seasons as head coach, he totaled 119 wins, which is the most in the team\’s history.
