Cunningham Records 100th Win at Stevens as No. 10 Women’s Lacrosse Defeats Hartwick, 19-9

ONEONTA, N.Y. (April 6, 2010) – Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach Celine Cunningham recorded her 100th career win and the 10th-ranked Stevens Institute of Technology women’s lacrosse team improved to 3-0 in the Empire 8 with a 19-9 victory over Hartwick College on Tuesday afternoon at Wright Stadium in Oneonta, N.Y. Stevens was led by seven points from senior captain Alyssa Pigott (Jobstown, N.J.) and six points apiece from juniors Leah Wasserman (Monmouth Beach, N.J.) and Michelle Buonacuore (Medford, N.J.).

It is very important to note that the non-profit, fully Volunteer G.C. Sail, Inc. keep the Northwind afloat and in good repair entirely through our fundraisers, Corporate Grants and donations from local residents.

HARRISBURG – The fourth year of the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s two time-limited collectible series – the Wild Turkey Heritage Series and the Upland Game Bird Series –now are available for ordering. Orders will be taken through the agency’s website (www.pgc.state.pa.us), by mail or by calling 1-888-888-3459 (toll-free).

In addition to ordering online, a downloadable application is available on the agency’s website (www.pgc.state.pa.us) by clicking on \”General Store\” in the menu bar under the banner, the click on \”Collectible Series and Items.\” Delivery can be expected by December.

The two series, which were launched in 2007, and will run for a total of five years, incorporate products grown and made in Pennsylvania, as well as the designs of an award-winning Pennsylvania wildlife artist.

\”The new collectible, numbered wild turkey calls and knives are handsome additions to these continuing series,\” said Carl G. Roe, Game Commission executive director. \”Both series, which also offer corresponding fine-art prints and patches, feature products made in Pennsylvania by Pennsylvanians.

KEEP PET CATS INSIDE

The time has come for the Gloucester City Feral Feline Committee to start trapping feral cats in your area. This is just a friendly reminder that the Gloucester City Ordinance states that your pet cats should remain indoors at all times. If for any reason a pet cat is trapped, it will be spayed or neutered and ear tipped at the owner’s expense.

If you need to get your pet cat spayed or neutered for a low coat, please contact the Camden County Animal Shelter at (856) 401-1300.

New members are welcome to join our committee and donations are always needed. Suggested donations can include: towels, sheets, blankets, dry or canned cat food and cleaning products. Monetary donations are also greatly appreciated. Thank you for your continued support.

NABP gives the Vet-VIPPS seal to online pharmacies that dispense prescription animal drugs and comply with NABP\’s strict criteria, including federal and state licensing and inspection requirements, protecting patient confidentiality, quality assurance, and validity of prescription orders. Look for the Vet-VIPPS seal displayed on a pharmacy\’s Web site or check with NABP⁴ (click on \”Accreditation Programs\”) to find out if a pharmacy is Vet-VIPPS accredited. Because this is a new program, begun in 2009, a small number of pharmacies are currently Vet-VIPPS accredited.

Letters: DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ‘THEN AND THAN’

I find it amazing that the pre-school program will no longer be funded and we still want to $\"Newspaper$ build the new middle school.

I further find it amazing that the people whom write for the Gloucester City News still do not know how to use the words \”then and than.\”

Read last week’s \”Bell of St. Mary Dedicated in 1988,\” paragraph 3. We still look like uneducated cretins to the outside world.

The Gloucester City News apologizes for its mistake in the article last week. We try very hard to create a grammatically correct newspaper every week.

Obviously, we are not perfect. However, calling us, and the citizens of Gloucester City, \”uneducated cretins\” is a bit strong and, in my opinion, out of line.

There are no problems, only solutions. Perhaps Mr. Grello would like to tutor English to those who need it so we can become a City of educated, responsible citizens – which I already think we are.
