In this 3-hour hands-on session, participants will learn to identify monarch butterflies in the field, explore its life-cycle and habitat requirements, observe and collect one of New Jersey\’s native butterfly species, and learn to raise and care for caterpillars.
There is limited space available for this workshop and registration is required. The workshop is open to ages 10 years old and up. Bring a snack. Rain cancels the program.

POHLIG,Helenmay Eileen Patricia (Nee Ryan), on July 13, 2009 surrounded by family at her home, age 88 of Bellmawr, New Jersey, formerly of Colwyn, Pennsylvania; born February 18, 1921; devoted daughter of the late Leo Michael Ryan and Helen Isabelle Ryan (nee Mercer); pre-deceased by her loving husband Frederick Walter Pohlig; beloved sister of Beatrice Warren (Albert), the late Leonia Greenleaf, and the late Mildred Frazier; loving mother of Suzanne M. Belmont (Albert) and Frederick L. Pohlig; loving grandmother to Jeannette M. Taulman (Joseph), Claudia I. Pohlig, Frederick L. Pohlig, Jr. and Albert M. Belmont, III (Marie); also survived by 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Worked in the trust department for Fidelity Bank in Philadelphia for more than 25 years. She lived much of her life in Darby and Colwyn, Pennsylvania until she moved to Bellmawer, NJ. A loving mother and grandmother, she helped raise three generations of Pohligs. She will be remembered for her abiding love, caring and thoughtfulness for her family, her devotion to her husband Frederick, her junkets to neighborhood flea markets and her hospitality at her wonderfully and carefully furnished homes. The Police Department’s Budget:

In the past, our City has hired a new Police Department recruit, trained him at the Police Academy and had him ready to work the job before a retiring officer left the department. This was done to avoid a shortage of man power. Officer Craig Reinhardt retired from the GCPD in April of 2008. If our City government had followed the described pattern, a recruit should have been hired towards the end of 2007 or early 2008. That being said…

Residents of South Jersey\’s 4th Legislative District should be aware of Democratic state Sen. Fred Madden\’s recent flip-flopping on S1774. He has shown that he does not stand behind his convictions and will buckle under pressure.

S1774 arbitrarily limits firearm purchases to one per month despite the fact that gun buyers are already vetted by police for every permit. The bill was a symbolic, meaningless gesture to attack the nonexistent problem of intrastate handgun trafficking. It stalled in the Senate in February, one vote shy of passage, when Sens. Madden, Jeff Van Drew and Stephen Sweeney were the only Democrats with the common sense to staunchly oppose a bill whose only use was to score cheap political points.

The brigades, known as AABs, are specially configured Army units focused on training and mentoring Iraqi security forces. 

The new AABs are among seven brigade-size elements whose upcoming deployments were announced today. One brigade is going to Kuwait and two others to Afghanistan to replace redeploying forces, Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman told reporters.
