It’s time to TIGHTEN the belt & MAKE SACRIFICES like the rest of us have had to do! Source: \”Public Hearing\” March 30th where ONLY 20 residents attended Due to the Board of Educations Poor advertising & waiting till the Last Minute.

This year (2009): Superintendent Joe Rafferty will make over $126,000 – Not too bad for his 3rd year on the job! Business Administrator Melissa Raywood will make over $105,000. Together they are set to make $18,845 MORE then they made in 2007!!! Source: www.mtephraimschools.org – Click \”Board of Ed\” – then \”Proposed Budget For 2009-2010 School Year\” (at Bottom of Page)

Neighboring Brooklawn has NOT increased School Taxes for 8 Years In A Row! Why cant we do the same??? Source: Gloucester City News – April 9, 2009

Have Budget Questions??? Call the Mount Ephraim Board of Education at 931-4134.

Voice Your Opinion at the MAYOR & BOARD OF COMMISIONERS MEETING held the first Thursday of the month; MAY 7, 2009 at 8:00 PM at the Borough Hall. RESIDENTS NEED TO ATTEND & let Your Elected Officials know that you DO NOT want YOUR TAXES going up AGAIN! THEY HAVE THE FINAL SAY & ONLY WE can Put the Pressure on them to MAKE THEM do this!

Once the Budget is Voted Down, the Commissioners make the determination on what they want the Board of Ed to do on behalf of the residents. Also at this meeting the Commissioners will be introducing the Proposed Municipal Budget for 2009 – a 10 cents increase is proposed. That\’s an additional average tax increase of $98.00 up to $214.00 (depending upon your homes assessment) for the year. We can NOT & will NOT do both! Times Are Tough & Enough Is Enough!
