On January 21, 2009. Age 50. Of Gloucester City. Formerly of Woodlynne and Williamsport, Pa. Loving husband of 28 years to Bertha Welch (nee Collins). Loving son of Lester and Caroline Welch (nee Shaffer). Loving father of Billy (Shyama) Wittman, Scotty Welch, Jr. and Ricky Lee Welch. Dear brother of the late Cheri Welch and Kelly Welch and survived by Robert and Rick Welch, Kathy Hamilton, Becky Jordan and Carol Beck. Godfather of Emily Wolfe. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Scott attended Williamsport High School and was the owner and operator of Total Property Care. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his viewing on Monday afternoon from 3 to 5 pm at the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth Street, (at Brown Street) Gloucester City. Religious Service in the funeral home 5 pm. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Scott’s memory to the Scott D. Welch Memorial Fund: P.O. Box 358, Gloucester City, NJ 08030.

Dorothy Kraft, Longtime Member of Highland Park Methodist Church

On January 22, 2009. Age 97. (nee Bobo). Of Gloucester City. Loving wife of 67 years to \"Cross5\" the late Edwin C. Kraft. Beloved mother of Dorothy L. Wright, Fred E. Kraft, Edwina M. Bradford and Edwin R. Kraft. Loving grandmother of 9 and predeceased by 1. Loving great-grandmother of 21.

Dorothy was a lifetime resident of Gloucester City. She was a 1930 graduate of Gloucester High School. Dorothy was a member of Highland Park Methodist Church since 1965 where she was in the Women’s Guild.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend her visitation on Monday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 am at the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth Street, (at Brown Street) Gloucester City. Methodist funeral service will begin at 11:30 in the funeral home officiated by Pastor Joyce Mooney of the Highland Park Methodist Church. Cremation and Inurnment will be private in Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro. There will be no evening visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy’s memory to the Mary Ellen Kraft Scholarship Fund: 520 Cumberland St., Gloucester City, NJ 08030. Please write in memo: Dorothy L. Kraft.

Brooklawn Neighborhood \”Eyes and Ears\” Watch.

We had a great meeting on Sunday, January 11th discussing communications, safety, and some of the things we should be watching for.

Also discussed was the best and safest way for us to help our Police Dept. by ensuring we provide pertinent information as needed. Everyone provided great input and some great ideas were put on the table.

Our Membership now totals 22 and more are expected so were off to a good start.

Our next meeting will be held on Sunday evening, February 15th, from 7pm to 9pm at the Brooklawn Community Center.

Topics for this meeting will be, Organization of Block Capt/Spokes Persons who will serve as a communication point to gather information to be passed to the Police Dept, and to our group. We will also discuss and learn some items for home security and how this program starts with us at home.
