5 Mistakes You Definitely Don’t Want to Make While Planning a Surprise Party

Are you planning on throwing someone you know a surprise party? It is a fantastic way of showing them some true appreciation. If successful, it will make them feel happy, loved, and excited all at once. However, there is the possibility of getting it wrong, and you naturally want to avoid that.

If you are planning a surprise party, then here are five common mistakes to keep in mind so that you don’t make them yourself.

1. Not Taking the Guest of Honor Into Account

You might have a million great ideas buzzing around your head, but what will the guest of honor think? You need to keep them in mind when making each decision. What type of décor do they like? Are they more of a rock band kind of person, or would they prefer a DJ playing the biggest, latest hits? The more you know the guest of honor, the higher the chance you can put on a celebration they genuinely love.

Donald Norcross: Fighting to Raise the Minimum Wage

Congressman Norcross speaks on the House floor in support of raising the federal minimum wage.

It is an embarrassment that the federal minimum wage has not been raised in over 16 years. Last week, I spoke in favor of raising the federal minimum wage. A fair day’s pay for a hard day’s work is not just a slogan, it’s the American value that holds this country together.

I have worked a minimum wage job. I was once a young single dad raising my son while balancing work, family life, and a checkbook. Back then, it was hard. Today, for far too many Americans, it is nearly impossible.

We all know that $7.25 an hour is not a livable wage, especially now that the spending power of a dollar is only a fraction of what it was in 2009.

Last summer, Republicans voted to give tax breaks to billionaires. When will they finally vote to support the American worker?

One Year In, Call It What It Is—The Comeback of the Century

One year ago today, President Donald J. Trump took the oath of office, becoming the 47th President of the United States. In just one year, his administration has secured the border, unleashed domestic energy, and put America back in charge on the world stage.

Members of the Republican Study Committee (RSC) celebrated President Trump’s first-year accomplishments and the results he has delivered for American families.

“One year in, and President Trump proved what we already knew: weakness invites chaos, strength delivers results. Under his leadership, American workers gained back $1,100 in real wages that President Biden’s policies destroyed, manufacturing is surging, and new jobs are going to U.S. citizens instead of illegal aliens. And it’s not just our economy that’s winning again. Our adversaries are contained and our country is leading from a position of strength again. The world knows America is back. Promises made, promises kept!” said RSC Chairman August Pfluger (TX-11).

“One year into the Trump 2.0 Administration, we’ve seen bold leadership that has delivered lower taxes, stronger borders, renewed energy independence, and historic support for our military and law enforcement. President Trump has kept his promises to the American people, strengthening our economy, defending our freedoms, and holding the line against radical policies that hurt our nation. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved so far, and I look forward to the work ahead to secure a more prosperous future for all Americans,” said RSC Vice-Chair Ben Cline (VA-06).

Virtua is First in Philly/South Jersey Area to use Innovative ‘Safe Zone’ Technology for Robotic Spine Surgery

Spine surgery is among the newest procedures to advance robotically.

Virtua is one of the first to offer it – and the only one regionally to provide a unique,
GPS-like navigation system that improves safety and accuracy.

(MARLTON, N.J., January 21, 2026) Virtua Health, southern New Jersey’s largest health system, has achieved another milestone in its robotic-surgery leadership. The Marlton, N.J.-based organization is the first in the Philadelphia region and South Jersey to provide robotic-assisted spine surgery combined with a GPS-like navigation system that enhances safety and enables better outcomes.

The navigation software, called Spine Guidance by Stryker, enables surgeons to create “safe zones” where the surgical tools can be blocked from entering, minimizing the risk of damage to surrounding structures.

“It’s the only software on the market that allows us to set up safe zones, which enables us to relieve pressure on compressed nerves more safely and efficiently,” said Dr. James Sanfilippo, vice president of clinical operations for musculoskeletal services at Virtua Health.
