CAMDEN CITY-City council will hold hearings on April 5 to find out why city firefighters are being paid millions in overtime.
City Council President Angel Fuentes said he also expects Fire Chief Joseph Marini to explain why he ordered a fire station closed in the Cramer Hill section.
The station was closed for part of March 1 and has since reopened. Marini said he was responding to an order from city Chief Executive Officer Theodore Davis to stop paying overtime. Without the overtime, Marini said, he couldn\’t find enough officers to keep the station open.
The public hearing will be at 4 p.m. in City Council Chambers, on the second floor of City Hall.
