Gloucester Cath.\’s Bonelli is fast on track for TCNJ

The College of New Jersey\’s Jessica Bonelli hasn\’t been running track for all that long, but you sure wouldn\’t know it.

\”I started freshman year of high school,\” said the Gloucester Catholic High School graduate. \”I had never run track before and decided to go out for the team. I stayed with it through high school and came here. It\’s an excellent program that I came into. I\’ve been lucky enough to excel the last three years and have definitely improved.\”

The junior\’s improvement has been tangible.

She was a big part of the women\’s indoor track team\’s 10th straight title at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Feb. 19, when the Lions easily outpointed Richard Stockton 222-129.

Bonelli, 20, won the 200 meters in 26.96, the 400 in an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) qualifying time of 1:00.18, and was part of the winning 4×200 relay team, which won in 1:48.49. COURIER POST
